Dobbs tearing it up

I'm done with Dobbs, I'd rather them play peterman if it came down too it.

He thinks to much and it makes him hesitate.

Just do it

Shocking that a true freshman running a new system with all new players and new coaches would be hesitant.

Get off the Xbox ery now and then.

The straw man has spoken. So it is said. So it shall be written. So it shall be done.

Dobbs isn't a good QB

We didn't have a good QB on the team last year. Worley was serviceable but needed receivers to constantly bail him out.

But can we please not turn this thread into a QB debate? There is a thread for that already.

You can be as smart as you want. But if an earthquake (overwhelming force) decides to knock you off your feet. drop you into a ground fracture and close up again with you inside, there's not a darn thing you can do about it.
And that's what happens to most freshmen QBs or even seasoned QBs faced with top tier defenses that flood your backfield practically every play.

This is something that no one seems to understand. If he started from the first play of the first game, I could understand expecting a little more out of him but this kid was thrown in the mix in the middle of the season against some of the top programs in the nation. To expect him to go out and play perfect is plum crazy

Dobbs only redeeming quality was that he could run a little. I wasn't impressed with his speed or arm. In fact his arm looked horrid at times. And gaining pds. doesn't help arm strength. His decision making was not good.

Worley simply refused to run, which made things tougher for him.

I thought the offensive planning did little to help the QBs by getting it to any flow. Play calling is an art and I didn't like what I saw last season. Granted, there were limitations.

Are you saying Dobbs is a good QB so far?

So far 'no',
We need to have some faith. against Kentucky he was good. the other three teams were amongst three best passing defenses in the nation. Vandys game, yeah that was bad, but in his defense, he had his best receiver injured.
So, to expect him to shine straightway was a bit harsh!!
Lets trust Butch, and his decision on QB. with our improved receiver core, QBs performance might improve this season depending on whether our O-line holds up.

Why waste time debating QB's. None have stepped up. That has to happen when the season starts. I will let the coaches set the pecking order and keep my fingers crossed. Common sense tells you it will be Worley starting. After that who knows.

Dobbs was thrown into the fire and expected to be awesome. Like MOST freshman QB's (or players) that wasn't the case. I think the kid has the smarts and the motivation to become great. I was not impressed with his play last year but that doesn't mean that he can't/won't improve. I have a feeling he will be pretty bad A.

Ok so sick of hearing this BS...How exactly does the WRs bail him out?...His job is to throw the ball, Their job is to catch the ball...That is what they are suppose to do...Now how in the blue blazing hell is that bailing him out?...Do you realize how freakin stupid you guys sound saying that?? :eek:lol:...If anything he bailed them out by putting the ball exactly where it was suppose to be put.

So let me get this straight, you think the QB can just walk out and throw the ball anywhere he wants and it's then the receivers job to catch the ball no matter where he throws it? So if the QB throws the ball into the ground it's not his fault the WR didn't catch it that's the WRs fault. Or if the QB throws the ball ten yards over the WR head, again that's not the QBs fault that's on the WR for not wearing a jet pack so he can catch any ball thrown within 25 yards of him. Yep that's sound logic no wonder you think Worley is a great QB.

I guess they were wearing jet packs since they "bailed" him out.

Too bad they took em off when Peterman and Dobbs were playing.
