Doctors of VN

Thanks kiddiedoc.
I have checked on a couple of things the best that I have came up with was a 1 month free coupon from the Anora website. They have a free year program but the old man did not qualify for it.

I can also get in touch with your local GSK rep if that would help.

Not related, but I take a biologic drug that costs my company almost $19000 every 3 months. My co-pay gets covered by the drug manufacturer down to $10.

In a few years when I go on Medicare, I get to pay nearly $5000 out of my own pocket for the same medicine. No help from the manufacturer and Medicare pays full retail price for drugs.

Why can't Medicare negotiate drug prices? This is how F'd up our government is.

My guess is lobbyist money in DC.

Had a rough night so far. I felt like hard thuds and skips back to back a few times in a row and it kept going on. Freaked me out so bad I was actually shaking. Also having weird gas in my throat and acid reflux type symptoms.

Yep. I got 1 month free. Do no qualify for the free year.

One of my co-workers had a similar issue. Even with insurance, one of his meds was 300+ a month.

He watched a video on YouTube from the maker of said drug. Printed out a deal that came with the YouTube and now gets his meds for free.

They advised him that on the 11th month to watch it again and get a new card from them to have no lapse in his meds.

I'm not sure if this is the same route you have already attempted but.....

NeedyMeds good source for lots of different assistance programs and drug cards.

Thanks, I went to their site. This is on front page. It looks like a great program that has saved people a lot of money on meds.

We now find ourselves in the sad position of making another announcement: as of midnight, Dec. 31, 2015, we have suspended acceptance of applications unless or until more funds are raised.

It is very similar to what I have saw.

Ok, let me know.

Kd, my pulmonary doctor replaced the Anoro with 2 inhalers that my insurance is paying for. He said it took both to do the same thing as thw Anoro and he doesnt think they are as good. Thanks for the offer. :hi:

Is the stomach bug going around? My wife and I got hit with it late Sunday night and it was rough.

Yes! Just recovered from that awfulness.

The reason inhalers cost so much is the fact that all hold name-brand patents since the move to HFAs (CFC free). Honestly, the whole deal is nothing short of a travesty, and the FDA/patent office should be shamed for their mishandling of these medications.

That's ridiculous and sad. Another thing that's ridiculous is that when you're prescribed an inhaler you also HAVE to be prescribed a spacer. You literally cannot buy a spacer by itself from any pharmacy without a prescription(which is crazy because it's just an empty plastic tube). I have used the old empty toilet paper roll trick before when I had to. You can however buy them on amazon without a prescription.

Anyone familiar with the devices "Eustachi" or "Ear Popper"? These things allegedly help you clear blocked eustachian tubes. I only get a blocked tube when I get a cold and it's very frustrating as there is virtually almost no way to clear it. You basically have to just wait it out until the drainage stops which for me is typically two days.

So, need some insights into questions I should ask my cardiologist on Monday during my first appointment with him.

Background:

32 years old
male
5'10" 205 (down 12 pounds in 12 weeks ON PURPOSE with diet and exercise :birgits_giggle:)

Had a 4-5 month bout with health anxiety last year that I overcame.

Came back 2-3 months ago.

Started having some heart palpitations a couple months ago, and could feel the skipped heartbeats when I'd check my pulse. The skipped beats only really happen when I move around a bit.

Kept weightlifting and doing intense cardio sessions. Never had chest pain or lightheadedness. Lots of anxiety about the skipped beats though.

Went to PCP last week - EKG looked fantastic (very minor right bundle branch block that was nothing). Made me wear 24 hour holter monitor. Had 350 PVCs over 24 hours (not bad they said). Usually benign. They said I had 125 PVCs between 6am and 7am but I think that's a mistake.

Doc refers me to cardiologist because I have a strong family history of mitral valve prolapse. No idea if I have it. However, doc said nothing is alarming, but doing this to rule out the bad stuff even though the only reason I'm being referred is due to family heart history.

SO, I go Monday for the first appt with cardiologist.

What should I ask? What should I expect?

I assume we will do an echo at some point - maybe a stress echo?

Had a clean stress test last year, but I don't remember many palpitations last year.

Anyway - what should I ask? Also, does this sound serious or benign?

THANKS

I had palpitations when I was a kid. Don't have them much, or don't notice them, now. Mine usually happened when I got out of bed or out of a chair. Doctors never seemed overly concerned. I think they get concerned when they are accompanied by other more serious conditions. What's your BP situation. Do you do a lot of cardio? At your age, unless you have lots of muscle mass, you might want to lose a few lbs. It gets harder to do as you get older. Although I'm 54 and in much better shape now than when I was 34. I do a lot of hiking. If your doctor gives you a clean bill, get on the cardio. It'll do your heart food. Good luck!

That's clearly not a screen shot from a local Walgreens.

I've only heard of topical cocaine being used in an ER setting for really bad nose bleeds that won't quit.

Yep, came in with some Coumadin toxicity and developed a nosebleed that we couldn't stop.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
