I am probably reading too much into this but since Hyatt is using his Hyatt NIL deal to get rooms for the team's family members for the Orange Bowl I am becoming cautiously optimistic he might play. Does anyone know if he is practicing with the team?

Hyatt playing in the bowl game. Hyatt hasn’t even made a decision yet rather if he is coming back or going pro yet. But he has signed multiple NIL deals since the season has ended. If he had no intentions of coming back, why sign NIL deals when you’re about to have millions anyways without doing the NIL deals guidelines for each company? I think he’s coming back.

Good point. Although someone pointed out here on another thread that one of his NIL deal stays with him if he goes to the NFL. It would be interesting to see if this new Hyatt deal does the same.

I think he plays a few downs in the Bowl game. He needs 32 yards to be Tennessee single season yardage leader.
He could get that on one play.

Jaylen's dad said in an interview a couple days ago that the decision had already been made and they were just waiting to announce it. I don't know why they would wait, but I'm sure there's some good reason. Guess we'll all find out in a few hours.

I don't think the team as a whole has been doing much practicing the last week anyway with exams. With his decision coming at 1 pm today, that is probably before bowl practice really ramps up.

All these mock drafts saying the kid from OSU who was out most of the year with injury and the kid from TCU who runs 4.4 are going ahead of a kid with fifteen TDs who runs 4.3 are asinine, and that’s a nice way of putting it. It’s just campaigning by homer sportswriters. Teams will see Hyatt’s forty at the combine and he’ll likely be the first WR taken. I would guess top ten.

Maybe he genuinely loves playing for Heupel?

Can’t fault the kid for wanting to stay.

It’s not always about the NFL for these kids.

99.9% of it is the NFL for them and to think otherwise is crazy. If he has a first round grade its borderline crazy to come back. Third round and up, sure there are more benefits to likely coming back.

That's generational wealth he could be throwing away coming back. QB coming back is not as risky as a WR/RB who pull hamstrings etc. that never recover.

That would be the worst possible look for him if he did that, I don’t see anyone just playing enough to pad their stats a little and then quitting.

I’m not worried if he does go, because we have so many good receivers returning. We got big Bru, Ramel Keyton(who I’m predicting has a breakout year), Squirrel white, Merrill, Kaleb Webb, Chas Nimrod, etc. need maybe a one or 2 from the portal but I feel good about the WRs

No different than a High School AA 5 star who has already made a secret commitment but wants to wait till a certain day (mom’s birthday for example). The build up and anticipation makes it more exciting.

Lets dont. He needs to go pro. Dont risk being hurt like Tillman and its great optics to get players in the first round.
At the end of the day he will ultimately do what’s best for him and his family. Whatever that is, I’m cool with. Your same argument could have been said for Peyton which is why I attached the photo I did. Going in the draft with the power T by his name is just as cool as every receiver recruit hearing Biletnikoff winner on every televised broadcast all season long IMO. GoVols
