Does anyone know if Hyatt is practicing with the team?

247 mods are saying they would be shocked if it's anything other than going pro and not playing in the bowl.

So basically at 1:00 today he's going to announce he's going pro and quitting on his team before the season ends.

99.9% of it is the NFL for them and to think otherwise is crazy. If he has a first round grade its borderline crazy to come back. Third round and up, sure there are more benefits to likely coming back.

That's generational wealth he could be throwing away coming back. QB coming back is not as risky as a WR/RB who pull hamstrings etc. that never recover.
It's 99.9% about money.....which use to mean it was about the NFL.

If a kid is guaranteed $1.5 million in NIL money if he stays or $1.2 million in the NFL if he goes, the decision making process ain't what it use to be.

I love Hyatt and I am all Vol so with all respect I hope he does not come back. Even as a second rounder he can make life changing money and pursue his dream career. He has given us a lot. No need to risk injury. There is not much more he can do to add upon he already has. Plus, him balling out in NFL can bring more light to WRU.

If he doesn’t go pro I’d be shocked. There’s a lot more risk than than reward coming back. He just won the Biletnikoff award, 1st team all SEC, ALL- American, etc.. He’s losing his Quarterback and he just saw what happened to Tillman this year. Maybe he just loves college, but business wise it’s an easy decision.

I think he plays a few downs in the Bowl game. He needs 32 yards to be Tennessee single season yardage leader.
He could get that on one play.

The ncaa used to not count bowl game stats as part of the regular season. I believe they changed that in the late 90s, after Peyton left

I get it, old school thinking hates the opt outs, BUT this isnt quitting on your team in todays game

How about we DON'T call it that and wish him well and thank him for his time here.

No we should definitely call it that, but also wish him well. I hope he's the best receiver the NFL has ever seen, but he still quit on his team if he "opts out"

I’m not worried if he does go, because we have so many good receivers returning. We got big Bru, Ramel Keyton(who I’m predicting has a breakout year), Squirrel white, Merrill, Kaleb Webb, Chas Nimrod, etc. need maybe a one or 2 from the portal but I feel good about the WRs
Hope I'm wrong but Bru declaring for the draft is a real possibility.

I would put myself in his shoes. If I have a potential to be a 1st round pick, and make enough money to be set for life, versus risking it all to play a bowl game, I would take the money. I don't think any reasonable person would fault him for that.

Sure, it sucks from a fan's perspective to not be full strength, but you have to look at it as a young man's future.
