Does Nico play in Bowl game?

I don't see Milton as the type of player to opt out. I just don't. He just seems to be the type that will play in every game possible. He is a competitor.

I think he should. It will give Nico his first start and a glimpse of what we see next year.
Milton got his bowl game last year and the trend is that most potential NFL players opt out to keep away from injuries. (especially if it’s a crappy bowl)
He most likely won’t even make the trip.

I’d like to see Nico play but I want us to win so whoever gives us the best chance is who I want

Coach needs to respectfully urge Milton to sit out and get ready for the combine or whatever

Play Milton for sure.

Our WRs and TEs don't get enough blame for our passing struggles

While the WRs have struggled at times this year, no doubt, it’s ridiculous how many wide open reads Milton has missed on the year of you really go back and watch tape

I dare say most good college teams do not play true freshman. If you are having to play a true freshman, that implies you have no depth at the position. Arch Manning just took his first snaps this week at Texas.

I find it odd that folks are so adamant about starting a true freshman these days especially at one of the most critical positions on the team.
Look at the other ***** QB from last year- D. Moore at UCLA. He’s the only one who was starting games this year and it did not go well at all.

We don't even know where we will play. I think this is a bit to early for folks to be getting worked up for.

Some of you need to leave your feelings at home. I appreciate Milton. Although he underperformed, he’s been a real class act while here. But at the end of the day this is a business. The vols stand to gain absolutely 0 from Milton playing another snap. You can’t create game speed in practice. Every rep Nico can get will be beneficial to our future. With that says I fully expect to see Milton play all or most of our bowl game.

I expect he’ll get some playing time with some of the players to get some live game reps with people who will be on the roster next season. How much though, I have no idea.

Nico should start this bowl game and youth for next year... Thank you Joe for this year and you was solid... This game has more benefits for Nico getting experience and using it as more of a competitive scrimmage going into 2024....

Heupel will give Joe all of the snaps. He wants to give Joe an opportunity to "wow" some scouts with his "arm". I know Joe has the senior bowl for that, but just know that Nico will not see the field unless it is a total blowout.

lol man there should be an IQ test required to post here. Then we wouldn't have to see stupid posts like this.
Aw bud but then you wouldn’t be allowed to post and I want to see you copy and paste that message on 15 forums

I know plenty of stat guys are here.
How many times has the starting QB that won't be returning, not started a bowl game? Exclude injuries or opt outs.

This is just a guess, but it's what I'd do in Josh's place: up front, tell Joe he has the first half. His farewell tour. Make the most of it. Nico gets the second half. Transition to the future.

This happens no matter the score. Ahead big, behind, or close game. Switching at the half.

Gives something to both the lads, and to the coaches and fan base as well.

Go Vols!

Go ahead and let Nico start. That will give some fans on here an early start on complaining about 2024. If he doesn't win, they can complain about him not being ready and Heupel is a terrible coach, and if he wins they can complain about not putting him in earlier in the year and Heupel is a terrible coach. The whiners will be happy either way. (Definitions of whiner. a person given to excessive complaints and crying and whining. synonyms: bellyacher, complainer, crybaby, grumbler, moaner, sniveller, squawker.)
