Does Nico play in Bowl game?

The coaching staff already know what they have in Nico. He has nothing to prove. He'll be the starter day 1 next year. They actually a lly need to give the back ups like Moore and Shuler more playing time, so there is not a huge fall off between QB 1 and QB's 2 and 3.

I don't believe Moore is returning, he walked in SR day. Agree the starting position is Nico's to lose but it is a long way until next September.

Personally, I don't know the coaches so unlike most on here, I have no idea what they think or don't think about QB's for next year. They typically don't announce the starter until next year.

Unless he does it as a favor to Nico, which would be totally in character. Dude is about as selfless as it gets.
I think Heup would have to sign off on it. It's one thing whem a WR opts out. Your QB doing it isn't a good look for the team.

Yeah I guess you’re right. Ideal scenario would be that Milton starts and plays the first series. Takes the field for 2nd series and Heupel takes a timeout to let the fans give him a standing ovation before Nico takes the field.

I think he should. It will give Nico his first start and a glimpse of what we see next year.
Milton got his bowl game last year and the trend is that most potential NFL players opt out to keep away from injuries. (especially if it’s a crappy bowl)
Not unless it is a blow out, or Milton opts out. Not should or will it make a difference IMO.

for pretty much the 10,000th time in the past two weeks, this was his fourth game (vs. Vandy)
last year the bowl game didn't count against a redshirt, and there's no indication it will this year
And bowl games don’t count anyway in terms of redshirts.

Again, Heuple is loyal to a fault. Joe will play as much in the
bowl game as he wants (3 qtrs probaly)

Banks is going nowhere. Martinez is 50/50 on returning. His contract
expires this year, what's gonna happen? I think Heup brings him back.

Are you surprised he did not respond to the challenge on credentials. But your Volquest response is a good one.
Or maybe I didn't respond because I have important things to do and I don't sit on VN all day. As for credentials, I currently play football and I listen to people know actually know what they are talking about. You know, those people that actually do this for a living. It's not a coincidence that Hubbs, AP, Rob, Cain, Basillio, Hooker, etc all agree that we need to play the young guys more to build depth and to keep everyone engaged.

These types of posts are the most ridiculous. What is there to "LOL" about? Didn't you want to see Nico play more? Don't you want to get him experience since he's the guy next year? Don't you care about getting the young guys reps? What does getting Joe 6 TDs in a blowout win vs Vandy get us? I love Joe, but coach needs to be smart here.

I can’t wait for Nico. I love the kid and his potential. But I would be just as happy is he disappeared from the fans collective memories until after the bowl game so we don’t have to live through another month of idiotic posts trying to stir sh!+ up with their PlayStation strategies that aren’t realistic in even the most extreme situations.

I’m a nice guy, but I’m tired of this conversation about something that isn’t going to happen
Just stop making sense. Folks here feed off of conflict . If all posts were logical each thread would be no more than 5 pages.

I don't understand why we can't get Nico into the game. Today is the most upset I've ever been in a blowout, why on earth does Heup refuse to put Nico into the game? Is he seriously afraid that we will lose to Vandy? Nico is the future!!! I'm thankful for Joe and love him, but we needed to get Nico some playing time. I was getting so pissed off seeing Heupel trot out Milton series after series when we needed to get Nico out there. By the second quarter I was steaming mad. And to top it off, I couldn't even watch Nico play because I threw my remote at my TV and broke it when Milton came back out at the end of the 3rd. I'll be doing a write up later this week on things that Heupel needs to know and this will be addressed.
I feel sure CJH is anxiously awaiting your advice.

Folks, he says he plays football....... I think we might be arguing with a high school or middle school kid. That would explain a lot.

How do you know Nico is the guy next year? What if CJH didn’t play him more because he knows he isn’t the guy?

At some point we as a fan base have to trust the coaching staff and quit throwing crybaby fits every time they do not coach the way we think they should.

I know because I listen to people who actually do this stuff for a living. I'm not basing my opinions on uninformed posters. Hubbs, AP, Basillio have all said that the staff likes Nico and that he's the guy. If you people listened to the pros you'd see they all agree with me.

Hoping he starts.....not that it would really matter cuz he will see the field. If Im Joe Im opting out to focus on impressing the combine....I ainttaking a chance on standing on the sideline & making millions
