Does Sampson stay?

I like Sampson. He has a ton of talent. That being said, if Wright decided to come back I’d help Sampson pay the bus fare to Baton Rouge.

In the era of the NIL and portal, you can’t keep everybody happy, and if he got his feelings hurt because he got less playing time vs Vandy while sacrificing it to a guy that has been loyal to this program through the end of the Pruitt era when everyone was jumping ship (not to mention being a better runner between the tackles than Sampson), then he can leave. It would hurt, but we aren’t lacking for talent at the RB position and it opens the door for Seldon, Keith, or the kid from Virginia.

All that being said, I hope and think Sampson isn’t going anywhere and this is all just manufactured drama. He has the talent to be a great back here.

Who cares? At best, Sampson may be 2A to Small’s 2B but neither has clear claim to the #2 spot. It’s always been about riding with the hot hand and Small was playing well. Sampson understood that.

I hope he stays but this is the world we live in now with the transfer portal. If a player isn’t happy with the amount of PT he is getting there is school out there that will offer more.

For what it is worth I do think he was under utilized this year.

It’s instagram. And they are referring to his headline on the profile - he removed the references to Tennessee and changed the profile picture. He left his old Tennessee posts up. That would be a little dramatic to delete all your posts just because you transfer.
