Is that Leeroy's little bro?

We got him from New Leash on Life in Lebanon when he was 8 weeks old. Didn’t and still don’t know his breed and the first time I heard him bark I thought we brought home a coon dog. Three years later he only weighs 35 pounds and just barks like a coon dog. Lol.

Looks like a beagle/dachshund mix.

Today is a double celebration for me. 4th of July obviously, but today is the day I celebrate my dog's birthday as well. Six years ago yesterday, I found a starving and abused animal that nobody expected to survive. The pound and the vet both said she wouldn't last.

Six years later, she's still my faithful companion through thick and thin. She's lying on the floor looking like a fat slug at the moment (her birthday dinner of ground beef and cheese will do that to a dog), but she deserves a "lazy dog day" today.

Freaking fireworks.
I have 6 unhappy dogs tonight.

It's a tough for a lot of dogs. I had a rough day at work, yesterday, building a deck in the 100+ degree (heat index) weather with no shade. Went to bed before 8, but Gauge freaked out as soon as the fireworks started. I tried my best to keep him calm, but he didn't relax until after midnight. That's just one dog, so I feel for u with 6. I expect I will have to deal with it all weekend, too

BC? Familiar?

What are the opinions about collars used to correct dogs. I am against it, but I cannot stop "Max" from barking and scaring any neighbor that comes to visit.
