Dogs of VolNation and other pets that are inferior to Dogs

We've got a 180 lb English Mastiff and 60 lb pit bull. My job is usually goalie. My wife does most of the washing and I make sure they don't get out of the tub, lol.

Does anyone wash their dogs outside with a water hose anymore ?

I would leash my black lab to a shade tree then take the water hose and soap to her.

No way I was doing that in my bathtub.

I am in the market for a dog, preferably small to midsize, and I do work from home, no kiddo's.
Any suggestions on what breed?

It must love the water, I'll hang up & listen now

Damn right we do!

I have an 85 pound Czech Sheppard and a 65 pound Malinois who get hooked to my trucks hitch and washed down. They hate it while it's happening, but, its Katy bar the door friskiness afterwards. Lol

Dobies are great. Mine weighs about 70 lbs, she requires little maintenance and can swim like a dolphin.

I’ve got a Boston terrier that loves water but I think that’s unusual for the breed.

Well. Around 3pm my wife called me and told me something was wrong with my mini schnauzer. I got home and rushed him to the vet. he hasn't been well but he is 15 years old. he had some sort of stroke and I made the tough decision to have him go peacefully. I've balled. but I just sat there petting him and giving him kisses and telling him what a good boy he has been. longest 45 minute drive home I have ever had. well 2 more dogs to still love on.(including the blue tick I got off here like 5 years ago), but man this is tough.

Sorry for your loss. Best cure, rescue another!

We do sometimes when it's warm out. I think it's easier to do inside, I only have to guard one side instead of all sides, lol.

I did do something new with my pup bath last night. She tended to have problems when I would wash her head and face (shampoo getting everywhere) so I tried baby shampoo on those areas and regular dog shampoo everywhere else. It seemed to work pretty well even though she still hated it.

I couldn't deal with the hair in the tub.

My lab was a totally outside dog. She got in the basement though on really cold nights. Couldn't stand the thought of her being cold. She was a real lady. I miss that dog.

I smear PB on the shower wall do distract my dog from the fact thst she's getting a bath. She is so conflicted about shower time. She can't bring herself to get in the tub but she wants me to put her in. It's made things a lot more pleasant.

My wife was trying to get me to do this the last time I gave our little dog a bath.
