Anyone think Allen could be a sleeper like Cooper? What's his forty time if anyone knows, it's not listed on rivals?

I dont think you can call Cooper a sleeper until he actually does something. Dont get me wrong, I think he's going to be great, but until I see it on the field........

I was wondering when this comment would be posted. I was hesitant to post it, but I figured with all of the hype from JG I would post it. He's been right numerous times.

Allen has now gone back on his commitment to UT and is expected to sign with LSU.

Allen hedging on UT offer: LSU’s recent courtship of 5-foot-11, 250-pound fullback Dominique Allen has the Henry County High standout re-thinking his spring commitment to Tennessee.

Allen said Tuesday that an unofficial recruiting visit in late July to Baton Rouge — where he had a lengthy meeting with LSU Coach Les Miles — has muddied his commitment to the Vols.

“I’m keeping my options open,” said Allen, who rushed for 1,616 yards and scored
31 touchdowns last season for Henry County.

“I liked it down there (at LSU). They told me they really need me and they really use the fullback.”

We'll see, but doesn't surprise me with our depth (Cooper, Big Ben, Austin) all underclassmen.

Rumor has it that Bartholomew is a linebacker now, and Austin Johnson is more of an H-Back than fullback. I think this sucks; a tank of an in-state recruit backing out on his commitment to the home team...sad. I liked this prospect and hope he realizes that home is where the heart is sooner than later.

I like the guy as a prospect and would be glad for him to be a Vol. But, honestly with what we already have on the team, this might open up a slot for more defensive players.

"I'm still committed to Tennessee," Allen said. "Our family decided to make the trip and we had no expectations. You should always have a backup plan because you never know what might happen. They (Tennessee fans) have nothing to worry about."

He hasn't backed out of any commitment yet.

Cooper and Bartholomew are our only true FB's. Johnson needs to go back to MLB next year if this guy signs, cause we will need depth there.

From an article on GVX:

"Another freshman, Ben Bartholomew from Montgomery Bell Academy, has been practicing at linebacker. One of the more versatile athletes in the 2008 signing class, Bartholomew could also get a look on offense, likely at fullback, according to Fulmer.

Bartholomew could also play tight end or H-back."

So he's not necessarily a fullback. I hope this Allen thing is just a rumor.

So he's still commited to UT apparently and using LSU as a backup plan?

There shouldn't be a backup plan if you are "committed". If he wanted to explore his options he shouldn't have committed in the first place. Being patient isn't the best quality of most 17-18 year old though.

This is the last thing I expected. I'm shocked, but these are 17 and 18 year old kids who can change their minds at a moments notice.

Insert South Park joke here. Seriously though, I would hate to lose this kid just because he looks like a very good in-state player. However, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I will be on hand to watch him in person this weekend. They play at Dickson Co. for those wanting to attend.

Henry County destroyed Dickson County tonight. This game is a big rivalry game and is always tight, not so much this year. Although Dominique Allen was a freak of an athlete for his size, he wasn't as physical as I expected. Teague is a playmaker, and isn't a bad quarterback either. The player I was most impressed with though was #40. I didn't get a program, so I didn't get his name, but this kid was FAST.
