After seeing the pictures in the Nunes thread, I figured I'd post these from last Friday's game.

Dominique's team, Henry County, beat Westview (HighSchool of Clifton's and Harrell's) 48-7 last night. HC scored their first 34 points on 8 offensive plays. Their potent ground attack, led by UT commit Allen and UT Recruit Marsalis Teague, racked up 216 rushing yards on 8 plays. They averaged 21 YPC. The starters were out at halftime.

Allen had a quiet night - 79 yards on 7 carries for 1 touchdown.
Teague had 160 on 5 carries, with 2 touchdowns. He also completed a 20-yard touchdown pass.

Holy sh!t

Allen reminds me so much of his father, who I played ball with. Let me say this, if we want this kid, we better take a good hard look at him as a tailback. He wants his touches, as mentioned before. This guy is huge but he also OUTRUNS the other team's corners and safeties. He has the speed to go with it. He could be a Jamal Lewis type, due to his size and ability. Teague is a great athlete also. One of Teague's brothers plays for Murray St., just thought I'd throw that in. Let me say, Henry Co. isn't number two in the state for no reason.

So since his bro plays at Murray St we should offer? And I doubt he has that kind of speed. Maybe HS CBs but not D1

He will not outrun corners and safties at the college level period. He seems to be a great power back but he is not going to be a fulltime running back at UT.

Jamal could outrun safeties and corners though!!!! We need another one like him to run the T at Neyland soon!!!

Teague's brother plays at Murray St., not Allen's. It was just a comment that there is some talent in the TEAGUE family to play college ball. Yes, I know Murray St. is not a juggarnaut; was only making a comment.

And yes, I realize that Allen will not be able to outrun cb's and safety's at the college level, but a 250lb. high school back outrunning the supposedly fastest guys on the other team is still something, IMO. There are plenty of "speedster" running backs that still get caught from behind at that level.

Allen would be a nice power supplement to some speed out of the backfield. He has played against decent competition - I can recall a few times where he left now Miami Hurricane Gavin Hardin on his back. He's put up 100 plus games against Memphis Melrose.. The kid's got talent. Landing him and Teague would be great - and I thought it would happen earlier this year. Teague's looking a lot less distant now - Allen might possibly be slipping away to LSU. I understand that we'll have a load of depth in the backfield for years to come, especially if Oku commits - but Allen could be that true bruising back.

He said and just to let you know his brother plays at Murray State. What else could that mean?

I believe he was just throwing that fact out there, just an interesting tidbit. I seriously doubt he meant it warranted an offer from UT.

OrangeBlood...have you lived in Henry Co. your entire life? Just curious. I am from there...played f-ball there. Played with Dominique's father. Thanks for all the pics.

Yes - except for living in Bruceton for 6 years. I'm a bit younger than dominique's dad. Henry Co. and Bruceton-Hollow Rock Central are my two schools that I follow closely. I'm just excited that this area is starting to have D1 Prospects again. McNairl and Theus could have gone to a small D1 School, but chose the OVC route. Allen and Teague are special, though. (At least for this area). The last time that could be said was when a certain young man by the name of Patrick Willis from Bruceton committed to Ole Miss when UT shyed away. We all know how that turned out..

Yes it is nice to have some D-1 talent from the area. I also played with John Hudson, whom I believe is the O-line coach at Henry Co., according to my dad. He played at Aubrun and made a career in the NFL as a long snapper. It is really exciting to hear good things coming from the ole stomping grounds.
