This won’t get fixed until you let Elarbee walk. You can’t claim to be a good O-line coach when you haven’t been able to get a single one of your own recruits to ever play on the field. I’ve never even heard of that pathetic and it should be a fireable offense as it is
IMO, it is/was inevitable that CJH would face tough decisions. And I think he's arrived. Personally it's virtually impossible to think you can build a staff in 2021, only lose those upgrading their $/position, never fire anyone and think you've got the right people for each job. Hell, sometimes even the right person for the job doesn't work out. So if he's going to break the "ceiling", he has some work to do. Might be unpleasant too.

You bought into the hype of this game.
Most fans would, but OSU was the only team we’ve played all year that pure talent advantage and coaching advantage. UGA is not as talented as this Ohio State team.
The talent on that OSU team- should not have lost twice this season. The feeling I had watching that game was similar to Nebraska 1997 vs Tennessee.

WHAT DID YOU ALL ACTUALLY EXPECT TO HAPPEN?

That game was lost before it started.
They knew how to stop our schedule (same as Georgia). Except unlike Georgia- Ohio State has the best WR in college football. An All -SEC Rb that is now part of a 1-2 punch for the Buckeyes.
They were clearly more talented and better prepared.

Solution- play the younger more talented guys sooner and bring new blood into the offensive room of coaches.

Just to be clear- Keenan Pili could have been healthy. Cam Seldon could have lived up to his talent. Mike Matthew’s could have been used much more and none of that would have changed the outcome tonight imo.
Ohio State still hasn’t played their A-Game and we were never a threat to them. And we’ve got some good talent- but we need more.

Ohio States starters were better and their bench was as well.

It was good for them to actually play a legitimately more talented team that was motivated.

I’m not saying anyone is stupid for being upset…
Or feels like our coaches aren’t good enough.
I’m just being honest in that Ohio State has a ton of future NFL players and we never stood a chance if they were motivated.

The seasons over.
- focus on the new class for 2025.
- Transfer Portal
- adding depth to the coaching staff.

I think Tennessee exceeded expectations.
Time for them to rest up and get ready for Winter S&C.

One more bullet point to add is that Heupel and White will decide how much more NIL funding goes into the football program.

I expected us to lose, which I’d been saying since the bracket was released, given what I’d witnessed from this team all season, combined with the situation OSU was in coming off the Michigan game. I even told an OSU friend of mine on Friday we would lose 45-17.

It is a little disheartening; I saw a ranking of SEC QBs and Nico was way down the line and behind Lanorris Sellars who is either a RS Freshman or a Sophomore not sure and DJ Lagway from Florida who is a True Freshman. I do think Nico has a high ceiling still don't things have slowed down for him yet.

Nico has elite arm talent, but there are a lot of guys with elite arm talent who never figure it out. We'll see if Nico can.

He seems to struggle in seeing the entire field and if his first read is not available, his inclination is to tuck and run.

Everyone ignores the elephant in the room. That is when a petulant Fulmer ditched Lane Kiffin, who had the inside playbook on Sabin, for Heupel. With what he's done with Ole Miss, Tennessee would have a national championship by now. 'nuff said!

As I remember it, Kiffin ditched UT to go to USC.

Thought we had the better QB and good enough RBs. The OL flat out negated any/all advantages, if there were any. This shows up time and time again against Ga, AL, Fla (insert teams you gotta beat to win your conference/playoff). Can't recall ever seeing that many batted balls, much less sacks and hurries in the game tonight. So, for the third year....I have to say FIX the damn OL. #1
How in heck could you watch that and think we had the better QB????
Howard was 24-29 and putting passes perfectly on target.

Nico played his a$$ off and did more than anyone but he was far from being the best QB

This post is wrong, but, like, five or six kinds of wrong all mashed together at once. And the neatest part is that it's wrong in ways that contradict itself. Impressive.

We sure didn't appear prepared. In inspiration or in scheme. It literally looked like one of those late season Homecoming games vs a mid-major. 😏

Good season overall tho. Thank you Srs and those who gave their all. Let's go load up in the portal, weight room and recruiting trail and get better. This reminds me of NE in the 98 Orange Bowl. Somehow, we had a better season the next year!
Yes ... they gave their "all" but what did they get in return? According to my google search a few minutes ago the average "salary" paid to a Tennessee football player was just over $40,000. This does not include room, board, tuition, books, tutoring, free medical care and probably a host of other benefits we're unaware of. Of course, the "stars" of the team receive far greater salaries. Once again, according to another google search top QB's earn just under $1 million, top WR's $600,000, OL's $500,000, DL's $470,000, LB's $440,000, DB's $410,000 and so on. I did not find specific salaries for Nico, Braswell, Mays, etc but I suspect their salaries are probably in line with these numbers.

So yes ... thank you for playing for Tennessee but we must remember that it's a job for many of these players and they probably couldn't care less about our university or being a "Tennessee Vol", it's only about the money. I know many here are fine with this new paradigm but me, I appreciate the older players like Peyton and Al who truly gave their "all" without any expectation of monetary rewards.

So many uncalled holding and flagrant PIs. Didn’t matter since we sucked but was still glaring.
Was going to say same thing...egregious penalties get focused on less b/c game was out of hand. And, not for nothing, but no one even mentioned targeting on Nico...OSU guys helmet cracked Nico's helmet on tackle, clearly helmet to helmet.

Don’t care what Georgia did to Texas. Ohio State has the better talent. Ohio State has three NFL WRs, a great pair of RBs, defensively appear good everywhere. How the hell that team lost to Michigan is a real question?
That was my exact question at the end of the 1st quarter. Have no idea....

They lost to Michigan because they weren't ready to play. Overlook city. If they come out like they did last night, they're the best team in the country

The talent gap is clear. The real problem is the coaching gap we’ve experienced playing anyone with a pulse.

Really I get that the played really well last night but sitting in the student section at OSU last night they would take Nico in a heartbeat. Most just said he needed OL help and some dependable WR

I thought we would be somewhat competitive and not be down out. I was disappoinTed in the effort shown by many of our players who appeared to be lost, or not giving their all. We had some positions which looked like they would rather have been at home watching on TV, Effort was lacking Nico fought for his life and I thought Lewis played well at RB. Our Oline had its worse day, including the Arkansas game. LB play was bad as best. Feline could not get pressure on the QB and we seemed afraid to blitz. Over all, we played about as well as the score showed, with OSU only running up the middle in the fourth quarter. Thanks to them for calling off the dogs.

Agree we need to put this behind us and start preparing some young talent for battle. I think We will Have to play some inexperienced, young players, who have more talent than older players. If we are going to lose games, lose them playing the best we have. They will get better with experience when properly coached.

IF that didn't happen, we're probably advancing after beating a fellow mediocre playoff football team, still feeling giddy about us belonging in the conversation for NC.

Which is why, to me, if you're staying with 12 teams, you can let conf camps in, but you have to seed the top 4 for a bye and let the other 8 play, and then re-seed. This year, Oregon, OSU, TX, UGA DESERVE the byes.
