Don't ask, Don't tell repealed

This same reasoning was applied to allowing Black, Asian and Hispanic men from serving together as well. It was wrong then and it's wrong now.

completely different. you're comparing a lifestyle choice to race. totally different.

Funny story, my dad was an NCO at Gitmo while the race riots in Detroit were going on; a heavy weapons squad with jeeps with recoilless rifles, one crashed bad, and as it turned out the truck commander and crew were all black...it was a big deal, considering the issues happening at the time. He had to show that it was just an accident.

Joe, you are as queer as a 3 peckered mule, based on your blind hatred of homosexuals. Self Deprication. Your hero GS at least cites some cold war, or hell, reconstruction era, published works as to why he takes issue...you, however, just hate gays.

The point is it was argued that having men of different races serve together would be detrimental to the forces and they were wrong then much as you are now.

this decision will not change how the military is run despite your unsubstantiated drivel to the contrary.

absolutely not. two different things. you're talking about an unnatural lifestyle versus a man's color.

I guess you're gonna compare homosexuality to the civil rights.

No, I'm not. That is inconsequential to the discussion however. Let me try to hammer this home for you once again since you seem so thick headed. You said allowing gay people to serve openly would be detrimental to our services, my point is the same was said about men of other races not so long ago and they were wrong then much as you are now.

I haven't given up hope for you yet, I realize you are very close minded and most likely prejudiced and bigoted but there is always hope.

no fool i don't. I think the lifestyle is wrong. if you want to take it up the azz that's fine with me, but i don't that lifestyle forced on me or force to be embraced by an organization that has represented America since the revolutionary war. If you don't think anymore of our military than that, that's up to you

They are not embracing anything, they are simply saying they will not penalize men and women who have chosen to serve this country who happen to be gay. They will not force them to deny what they are under penalty of discharge.

and if you think our country is doomed and our enemies are locked and loaded based on this and this alone, maybe its time to learn the rules of hockey, buy a jean jacket and head north, eh?

being straight is also a choice I guess. Good thing I chose right because I don't even know when they asked me. Just lucky I guess

Me too. It's essentially a coin flip, and finally for once I won.

two different things. you're talking an unnatural lifestyle, which is a choice, vs race, not a choice. the democrats (I assume they were democrats since many were against the civil rights movement and pushed for slavery down south) were basing this on hate due to color of their skin. they didn't care about the morals aspect of their lives.

i know many of you guys on here hate when people talk about morality because go goes against what you believe

Are you a retard? Really? I really can't see how you haven't been banned. I'm married, to a woman, and as life has it we can't have kids. I am a descendant of men who fought at the snowshoe fights with Rogers, who answered the Lexington Alarm, and fought at Saratoga, to 73 Easting, and just about everywhere in between. I'm not going to hear some inbred **** talk to me about the organization that has been my blood forever. Shut your bumpkin mouth.
