Don't Bash Tee

I'm sorry, but being a former player doesn't necessarily make one a VFL. If you don't think enough of your alma mater to come and help them when THEY NEED YOU, you're not a VFL. You're a former player. That's where it ends.

He says it's a business decision. Well it's one hell of a decision to not only refuse to help your alma mater, but to willfully funk us over. How is that? Cause his job is snatching the best players in our own back yard. Recruiting-wise, he chose to continue to compete AGAINST us...to continue to hurt us, instead of helping.

VFL? Hardly. He turned that card in today. I honestly don't care if I ever hear his name again.

Typical tantrum rant from a self-centered jackal who didn't get what he wanted. Tee's decision isn't about you. You don't even know why he decided what he did. VFL or not, your first priority is your family. If he came and CBJ proves to be a dud and the UT flushes the whole staff, your response would be, "So sorry for Tee". Would you supply his lost salary? Support his family? No just offer a "sorry" and nothing else.

Folks like you remind of spoiled brats. All the kids get the same number of pieces of candy and you want to whine about Suzanne having more blue colored candies than you do. Based on your infantile thinking, when Peyton turned down the Tennessee Titans, he was no longer a true Vol for dismissing the desire of fans to see him play in Nashville.

Moreover, if I looked at how many ex-Vols players had come here in recent years and got dumped, I'd think long and hard about returning too. The VFL guy who was released this very year, the strength coach who was let go and ended up in Texas. Some others. I'd question how much loyalty the UT had to its former players. If I had a secure high paying job, I probably would opt to not gamble my family's future under such circumstances either. And certainly not for a spoiled brat whose 'love" for me is based my doing what he wants me to do regardless of its potential impact on my family. For all you know CBJ might have told him the position offered was good only until he got some other WR coach he coveted.

Oh my goodness, a photo of you? Thanks for sending it. Now I can let the world know what you look like.

Yeah man, Its not like he has a family to provide for. How can he think only of his career and not what is best for us fans? the nerve.

Pay raise with a new coach who will at least get 3 years to prove his worth would probably provide for a family better than working for a staff that overwhelmingly underachieved with 2 more years of scholarship reductions on the horizon. The business decision comments and the what's best for his family comments don't add up. But they are a cool card to play apparently with so many people buying into it.

I find this very hard to disagree with.

I'll admit this hurts very badly and a million times worse that Tee is staying with Kiffin but on the bright side when Kiffin and his whole staff get canned next year maybe Tee can come home then. Either way i wish Tee nothing but luck and feel lucky that he was and always will be a VFL! Good luck Tee!

I'm sure we will have a WR coach in place. Now was his time, and he turned it down. C'est la vie.

He was going to get paid to give back to the university that made him who he is. He could have really helped turn us around, and was probably going to make more money doing it. Instead he says no and turns his back on us after coming all the way across the country and getting our hopes up..

People can say whatever they want about him, IMO. If you don't think you're going to take the job you don't meet in Knoxville and don't let it get so public.

I agree with both of these quotes 100%.... Well stated Men!!!!! Tee has kicked us while we're down!!!!

You don't know what the offer was. But Tee does. You don't know what, if any, job security was proffered. But Tee does. Now, you on the other hand and your ilk are like this:

makes you appreciate Graham for leaving a NFL caliber running back at USCe to come to a program with a head coach that was on the hot seat.

The fact that people want Tee to uproot his family or else he's Benedict Arnold is, I don't know, COMPLETELY INSANE.

I'm disappointed like you all are, but we'll move on.

Tee Martin won a Title for our beloved VOLS. He's represented UT extremely well. He wanted to be here 2-3 years ago (according to Ainge) and couldn't get a call back. He did what he felt was best for his family. As VOLS, we don't throw one of our own to the curb over a personal and professional decision. He's STILL a VFL. That's all. GBO!

Well said. Always a Tee fan.

I am with OrangeU. No need in bashing Tee! Lets move past this decision and time will tell if this was the right decision for Tee. No matter what it is time to move forward.
