Don't Bash Tee

Ahem... Nashville....

Two entirely different towns and contact sets. And I haven't even come close to discussing the lifestyle differences. This chick ain't Reba McEntire.

Perhaps she felt about as comfortable in Knoxville as I would in Hollywood.

She's not a country star. :hi:
The biggest labels in music are there, regardless. You got Atlanta nearby too.

They just value the Left Coast lifestyle more than helping his alma mater. To me it's not so much the choice to stay where he is....but it's a choice to NOT compete against/hurt them any longer.

I'm sorry, but being a former player doesn't necessarily make one a VFL. If you don't think enough of your alma mater to come and help them when THEY NEED YOU, you're not a VFL. You're a former player. That's where it ends.

He says it's a business decision. Well it's one hell of a decision to not only refuse to help your alma mater, but to willfully funk us over. How is that? Cause his job is snatching the best players in our own back yard. Recruiting-wise, he chose to continue to compete AGAINST us...to continue to hurt us, instead of helping.

VFL? Hardly. He turned that card in today. I honestly don't care if I ever hear his name again.

Please. The man quarterbacked our national championship team. Have a little respect.

I'm very disappointed in Tee, too. And I won't wish him luck, not because of Tee himself, but because of where and for whom he works. I won't support Tee, as his success directly affects the success of THAT man. I wish him well in life, but hope he fails horribly at his job.

But at the end of the day, Tee is still a VFL. Always will be.

Obviously his decision had a lot to do with family. I will never disparage a man for doing what's right for his family. None of you who are bashing him have any idea what his family dynamics are and neither do I.

I support Tee... he will always be VFL in my book and brought us a National Championship along with the rest of the '98 team! TIFWIW...

I wish him all the best, but as long as he is with kiffen I have no desire to support him. He is a VFL and is doing what he feels is best. I hope if or when kiffen is canned, CBJ will give him another look. Good Luck T and thanx for 1998.

This. If you think hip hop and R&B artists can't be based out of Nashville you're delusional.

Yea we cant bash a man for making a career choice. For his reasons he stayed where he was as I understand his wife is a singer and LA is a much better choice for her than knoxville. It is a family choice not only his. If he makes good bank there, and so does she there really is no point to move. I would say the money was not much higher to move and that is not worth the move. So all who is bashing Tee get a life, and go find another team to pull for. Stop being a loser yourself and find something you can win at

I would assume that Tee liked the idea of coming to U.T. but his wife probably did not want to move to Knoxville, Tennessee, Columbia, S.C. Birmingham, Alabama, etc.

Her career would be best served in "Lost" Angeles or New York...... I am sure she would come along to Knoxville, Tennessee with him.

Tennessee offered Tee $375K plus his $250K buyout.

He turned us down. That's fine...move along folks.

Who's next?

I've never seen such an overreaction to a WR coach.
If he didn't play here and had an identical resume, who would care? We'll find somebody who wants to be here, will recruit well, and hopefully doesn't have a wife who has him by the gonads so much.

Sounds like a good move. He knows he can get a job at UT any time he wants. Why not sit back and see how Butch and his staff does and make sure hes not walking into a career ender.
