The question that I think people need to be asking is why would TM fly out here with his family to interview for the job? First, it's almost a certainty that the family/career considerations were thought through long before anyone set foot on an airplane so he probably knew what his ultimate decision would be before he made the trip. By making the trip be had to know that he would cause some element of USC's program to question his commitment to them. By coming to Knox and declining the offer, he had to know he would alienate some part of the Vol program. So why make the trip at all? The ONLY reason I can come up with is that TM needed to make this public trip so he can tell the prospects that he has been recruiting, who are likely to be targeted by CBJ, that he investigated and considered the new staff at UTK for himself. JMO and as likely to be as wrong as anyone else's but I believe that this was all just a dog and pony show on TM's end to preserve some recruiting advantages.

They are a few idiots on here that makes volnation look bad. I am pissed too but why act like an idiot? If in next few years Tee is looking for a job he might look some were else if we act like a bunch of idiots . Life will go on. We will be ok Tee is not the only one. A lot of people thinks that he could work miricles. He should recruit good for USC because California is one of top 3 states in recruiting not to mention the USC name that sells in California.

I guess what a lot of us are saying is, if he isn't interested right now when we could really use our National Championship winning QB on the recruiting trail, along with his coaching talents, that is fine, but we don't want you "in a few years".

I wish him luck ... i just don't want him "later". I hope he does look elsewhere. If I'm an idiot for saying or thinking that, then I'm an idiot.

no matter what anyone says,he is at u.s.c. and he is stealing recruits from u.t, big wolf he was a qb on the n.c team,he cried because dooley wouldnt talk to him,then he has a chance to return ,only to turn us down,.so dont tell me not to call it what it is, he is stealing recruits for another team.

i respect tee but i don't respect how he's has been acting... cheers for UK beating us....jumps ship to follow the loser...then has a shot to come home where he got his start and supposly has kids here and turns it down!!...something seems odd with all this...maybe he don't bleed orange!!

He doesn't owe me anything, but he could have just told CBJ on the phone that he was not interested in the job and liked it where he was rather than bring his family here and make us all think he was coming. Now was his chance to come back and help us out when we really could use his help, but he chose to stay and work under our most hated x coach. Oh well.. I could go on but I'll stop here.

No he can't. The only reason Butch wanted him was because all the fans were behind him, and Butch was trying to get off on the right foot here.

Now that Tee's lost half the fans, Butch couldn't give a shlt anymore. Neither could I.

I hate to break it to you, but its doubftul that Tee martin will ever come back to UT, in ANY capacity.

not bashing Tee, but it could be perceived by people that he used us and got a free ride out here courtesy of the UTAD to see some family and old "friends" and may have just taken advantage of the situation to get a pay raise at Southern Cal.

I'm not so sure that he can get a job here any time he wants. We need him NOW. I really hope he doesn't come back here looking for a job later on if he gets fired at USC. We may not need him then.

I think there is a school of thought that whoever has Tee on his staff will get Jalen Ramsey this class and the Berry twins next class, maybe some other top prospects as well. May or may not be true but I can kindof understand how people would get excited over it. Beyond the recruiting angle, I agree with your assessment.

Tee is no longer a VFL, he made his choice, but time to move on maybe when kiff is let go next year he will be loyal to Tee lol,,.,

Tee made his choice but part of me thinks it also came from the wife.The lure and lifestyle of L.A vs Knoxville? It doesn't matter what happened in the past especially with D.D. This is now and the fact CBJ made the offer within three days of arriving speaks for itself.

Tee may owe Kiffin some degree of loyalty for picking him up but Kiffin should know a thing about loyalty when it comes to school roots. He bolted for USC when they called and if Tee said UT is calling Kiffin should understand where he is coming from. Sorry but I really think this was about money and lifestyle with the wife weighing in pretty heavy.

Let's face it guys, a lot of quality coaches choose not to coach here. We witnessed this during the coaching searches since Fulmer left. We have been turned down in humiliating fashion by a lot of solid coaches. Why? I don't have the answer but the UTAD better figure it out if we want to return to competitiveness. Or, maybe the UTAD is the problem:question:
