Don't worry about Clowney

Take away the one play and Tiny owned him last year. If he plays, I don't see this year being much different.

Come on guys read other sites. Clowny was nagged by injury and missed practice all week. Everyone thought he would play but on game day he told his DC he didn't think he could go. This did piss spurrier off but it is not like he just showed up and said I don't feel like it

He didn't practice on Thursday. He was there all week. The key thing that you said is that "He told his DC..." That's the rub. He shouldn't tell a coach anything and double shouldn't tell after he went through pre-game warm-ups. The team doctor didn't know? A trainer didn't know? Now it's a strained muscle in his side.

Smells like he just didn't want to play.

Smells like a word that starts with a p has a uss in the middle and a y at the end.

Assuming this team beats anyone is absurd.

They took a big step yesterday but this team can't assume any game is a win.

Heaven forbid the OP make a positive statement. We should have kept Dooley so some of you would have a legitimate reason to remain negative.

No that's exactly what he did. The whole team/coaches were under the impression he was going to play.

Clowney doesn't have to sit out for Tennessee to win!!! He hasn't been impressive at all this year and is acting like a true cry baby. If I was Spurrier I'd bench him the rest of the year and see how he likes his NFL Draft Dreams get shot to hell.

I wouldn't care if the whole South Carolina program walked out tomorrow. I HATE USC!!!!

I know what you mean. It's as if its some sort of sin to make any kind of positive statement about the Vols after the UGA game. If you start talking positive things like being confident about winning future games, you are stupid and absurd.

Yes I don't want out players telling the coaches if they have an injury... Hope you don't coach anyone

All I know is that the landscape of the NFL is littered with the remains of careers from kids who were all hype because of a few games. I am not doubting the kids physical abilities, he's a huge specimen with crazy speed.

That being said, if you don't have the motor and will to play it doesn't mean crap. These people that compare him to the all time great pass rushers in the history of the NFL are so full of it its amazing it isn't coming out of their ears.

Reggie White, Bruce Smith, Deacon Jones, hell even Michael Strahan for that matter. Those were guys who could flat out bring it and you never questioned their motivation to get on the field.

What people don't realize is that in the NFL almost all the Left Tackles are as good as Tiny or better. Hell last year he owned Clowney for the majority of the game without any help.

What's big bad Clowney going to do in the NFL when he is playing against that talent level week in week out for a 16 game season?

I am telling you, he's hype. Same thing as Brian Bosworth back in the 80's.

Absurdly wrong in so many ways.

I suggest you watch the 2014 NFL draft.

Clowney has been running his mouth and knows that Tiny is gunning for him next week. He doesn't want any of that, he might get hurt. He knows how tough Tiny was on him last year.

Sadly, someone will still write him an NFL check even if he benches himself the rest of the year.

I am absurdly wrong am I? Apparently you have been brainwashed by those fools Kiper and McShay at ESPN my friend.

They get paid to guess and its one of the only professions where they can be wrong all the time and no one will ever call them on it. They over hype players all the time. Examples:

2000 Draft- Ron Dayne, Courtney Brown, Chris Hovan, Erik Flowers, Rob Morris, Trung Canidate

2001 Draft- Gerald Warren, Jamal Reynolds, Damione Lewis, Ryan Pickett,

2002 Draft- David Carr, Joey Harrington, Ryan Simms, Wendell Bryant, Bryan Thomas, Napoleon Harris, Robert Thomas, Patrick Ramsey,

2003 Draft- Dewayne Robertson, Johnathan Sullivan, Rex Grossman, Jimmy Kennedy, Ty Warren, Michael Haynes, Kyle Boller, William Joseph, Tyler Brayton

2004 Draft- DJ Williams, Kenechi Udeze, J.P. Losman, Marcus Tubbs,

2005 Draft- Cadillac Williams, Erasmus Jones, Marcus Spears, Fabian Washington, Luis Castillo, Mike Patterson

2006 Draft- Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Ernie Sims, Brodrick Buntley, Tye Hill, John McCargo

2007 Draft- Jamarcus Russell, Gaines Adams, Jamaal Anderson, Jarvis Moss, Brady Quinn

2008 Draft- Darren McFadden, Vernon Gholston, Sedrick Ellis, Derrick Harvey, Keith Rivers, Gosder Cherilus, Lawrence Jackson

2009 Draft- Aaron Curry, Mark Sanchez, Aaron Maybin, Larry English, Kenny Britt, Beanie Wells, Ziggy Hood

2010 Draft- Rolando McClain, Brandon Graham, Tim Tebow

All of these players coming out of college were 1st round talent according to the "Draft Experts" and they were all busts in the Pro's. Hell, Tebow won a damn Heisman Trophy and he would be lucky to get an offer from an Arena League team at the moment.

This happens every year and it will happen every year because people listen to these fools blabber on about how great a talent they are and all this crap. I didn't even list the ones that had mediocre careers, this is the group that were terrible.

Clowney reminds me of Vernon Gholston from the 08 Draft. At the combine that year he out ran the majority of the RB's and could jump higher than the WR's. He was a freak of nature and a really good DE in College. Ask a Jets fan about how great he was in the pro's. He sucked beyond all that has ever sucked.

Aaron Curry is another one that jumps to mind from the 09 Class. To hear them tell it he was the second coming of Lawrence Taylor or Derrick Thomas. Seahawks fans can tell you all about him too, the ones that can remember if he managed to get on the field. He is currently out of the league, just like the majority of the guys on this list.

Mark my words, a few years from now I will bring this post back up and a lot of people will be eating crow on that day.

Yes, please remember to bring this piece of drivel back up in a few years.

In the near future, just remember to watch the 2014 draft.
