Don't worry about Clowney

Dismissing Clowney is silly. The Tennessee game is his chance to up his draft status. This is one game where he wants to add to his highlight reel.

With that being said, I hope Tiny breaks him!

He's done. Not messing up his draft status!

I am absurdly wrong am I? Apparently you have been brainwashed by those fools Kiper and McShay at ESPN my friend.

They get paid to guess and its one of the only professions where they can be wrong all the time and no one will ever call them on it. They over hype players all the time. Examples:

2000 Draft- Ron Dayne, Courtney Brown, Chris Hovan, Erik Flowers, Rob Morris, Trung Canidate

2001 Draft- Gerald Warren, Jamal Reynolds, Damione Lewis, Ryan Pickett,

2002 Draft- David Carr, Joey Harrington, Ryan Simms, Wendell Bryant, Bryan Thomas, Napoleon Harris, Robert Thomas, Patrick Ramsey,

2003 Draft- Dewayne Robertson, Johnathan Sullivan, Rex Grossman, Jimmy Kennedy, Ty Warren, Michael Haynes, Kyle Boller, William Joseph, Tyler Brayton

2004 Draft- DJ Williams, Kenechi Udeze, J.P. Losman, Marcus Tubbs,

2005 Draft- Cadillac Williams, Erasmus Jones, Marcus Spears, Fabian Washington, Luis Castillo, Mike Patterson

2006 Draft- Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Ernie Sims, Brodrick Buntley, Tye Hill, John McCargo

2007 Draft- Jamarcus Russell, Gaines Adams, Jamaal Anderson, Jarvis Moss, Brady Quinn

2008 Draft- Darren McFadden, Vernon Gholston, Sedrick Ellis, Derrick Harvey, Keith Rivers, Gosder Cherilus, Lawrence Jackson

2009 Draft- Aaron Curry, Mark Sanchez, Aaron Maybin, Larry English, Kenny Britt, Beanie Wells, Ziggy Hood

2010 Draft- Rolando McClain, Brandon Graham, Tim Tebow

All of these players coming out of college were 1st round talent according to the "Draft Experts" and they were all busts in the Pro's. Hell, Tebow won a damn Heisman Trophy and he would be lucky to get an offer from an Arena League team at the moment.

This happens every year and it will happen every year because people listen to these fools blabber on about how great a talent they are and all this crap. I didn't even list the ones that had mediocre careers, this is the group that were terrible.

Clowney reminds me of Vernon Gholston from the 08 Draft. At the combine that year he out ran the majority of the RB's and could jump higher than the WR's. He was a freak of nature and a really good DE in College. Ask a Jets fan about how great he was in the pro's. He sucked beyond all that has ever sucked.

Aaron Curry is another one that jumps to mind from the 09 Class. To hear them tell it he was the second coming of Lawrence Taylor or Derrick Thomas. Seahawks fans can tell you all about him too, the ones that can remember if he managed to get on the field. He is currently out of the league, just like the majority of the guys on this list.

Mark my words, a few years from now I will bring this post back up and a lot of people will be eating crow on that day.

Cool.

Now name all of the players from those drafts who weren't busts.

Those were first rounders only and the majority of Defensive players picked in the 1st rounds of drafts end up being busts.

It never fails that each year after the combine they hype up a bunch of kids and make them out to be better than they actually are just because they can run fast, or are impressive in the weight room.

In the pro's it isn't like it is in college where you can just outrun everyone or bulldoze through them. Pro players are all fast and strong, the greats used their heads in combination with their abilities.

Throwing one good hit in a bowl game does not make you a Hall of Fame caliber player before you even set foot on a pro field.

He will be a bust, just like so many defensive lineman before him that got hyped up over a few games they played in college.

I heard one commentator say they thought he might be as good as J.J. Watt is now? If that isn't delusional hyping I don't know what is.

Until I see him produce on the Pro level it doesn't mean squat and any GM who would pick him with his motivational problems is just begging to give a bunch of money to a bust.

Clowney doesn't have motivational problems. He loves football and enjoys playing it. He's had some tough injuries this year but he's been working hard every day to get through them. The media has brainwashed the uninformed fan. He will be fine.

Did the media also brainwash Spurrier? Didn't seem like he and Clowney were initially on the same page.

Spurrier screwed up saying what he said. Though he did apologize and admit wrongdoing, the damage was already done. It was like trying to pull gasoline off a fire. The media took it and ran with it.

And Clowney also apologized and said he probably could have managed the situation better. For a head coach not to know until nearly game time, that one of his star players is injured and won't be playing, would imply that there is much more going on than just an injury.

I'm not saying that Clowney may not have some injuries, but to claim the issue is simply the "media brainwashing the uninformed fan" is being naive imo.
