Dont you love Clausens modesty

As much as members hate me, mods dread me, and Freak is tired of me, I know a FEW people here understand me, and enjoy my "entertainment" value.

For those of you that don't understand me and my humor, I really am sorry and hope that you won't be too offended. There is no reason to get so personal because I post my opinions and actually defend them by doing my best to prove the ones that go against mine wrong.

That's debating, my friends. That's what message boards were made for, not hug threads and post padding.

Few as in 3 people?

For those of you that don't understand me and my humor, I really am sorry and hope that you won't be too offended.

What humor?

That's fine and dandy if you could call what you do debating. What about copying and pasting? Can we add that to the list of post padding and hug threads too? That's about all you do when you're not "debating".....

Beltway, don't drag me into this one.

Guys please try to stay on topic and if you want to fight please do it via PM. Let's not make it personal.

You don't see me explaining away his successes like the people "supporting Ainge" are

No, you just cry and whine whenever someone gives their opinon that Ainge should start....then go on the typical, "YOU ARE BASHING CLAUSEN" rant.

Old and boring

You say

but I just think that Clausen deserves this. He deserves to start until it's OBVIOUS that Ainge can be measurably better.

And I am just showing how laughable that is when Ainge went into UGA and beat them...solidified another SEC game on an audible at their own place....and is being placed on people's Top 10 lists.

Like I have said before, I am not bashing Clausen...I am simply showing why your statement is a complete and utter joke

The win at Georgia last season isn't going to win games for us this year.

The top 10 lists aren't going to win games for us this year.

Clausen and his mastery of the offense, and ability to MOVE THE OFFENSE will.

Good grief guys. Is it always like this in here or is it just a beltway thing? In total all I have seen is a positive discussion about our qb with opinions to support one or the other. However, it's interesting that beltway has been accusing everyone of bashing Rick and then in the last post it looks suspiciously like some Ainge bashing on his part to me. I agree with what most of ya'll are saying in respect to whoever starts we will be rooting for the Big Orange as hard as we can. It's all good!!!!

If Jimmy goes elsewhere and ends up steamrolling us, I will throw things at the TV for about five minutes then look in your direction.

No, it just was a literal turning point for us winning the East after an Auburn loss.

Not much at all.

Thank you for just reinforcing my point

Still not sure how last year's turning point is going to win us any games this year.

Maybe Georgia is scared? Doubt it.

Oh, so we shouldn't consider anything about last year?

Or just the things that help your side of the argument....

If THAT is Ainge bashing, than everyone here pretty much tore Clausen's head off and crapped down his neck. LOL

Ofcourse, I said earlier that, "I never said anyone was personally attacking him"...."All I said was that the Clausen supporters aren't using comments like these, (the ones I quoted earlier) to push Clausen, while the Ainge supporters are having to result to these, (the ones I quoted earlier) comments to make the case for Erik.", but I guess you chose to skip that.

No one is "ATTACKING" Clausen, but they are diminishing what he has done in order to attempt to prove thier point. ......which is their right, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with it, and I don't.

Care to tell me how that statement goes back to last year in order to prove my point? I'm looking at last night's stats and the reports we haven gotton all Fall long. Not last year's Georgia game.

No one is "PERSONALLY ATTACKING CLAUSEN" AS A HUMAN BEING.....however, the quotes that I went back and pulled out, IN MY OPINION, are comments that tear down what Clausen did as a PLAYER last season.

Understand yet?

The season must really get wordy around here?
I just dont buy into it or feel its that personal.
So if me saying Rick starts means im an idiot then ok?
Ainge is the next Great QB at UT! Its his to have and mentor JC. I feel like Ainge should be making notes from Rick. This no way means we wont see Ainge sept 3rd.

I think the staff has a plan for both? Does it kill us that Rick opened the play book against an " over rated" aTm? CPF and RS broke out plays that havent been ran since peyton perfected them.(other talent required)

When Ainge is in and or starts against Fla,or should shadow Rick on the side-lines. I cant be the only one here that understands what lessons can be learned by will and patients. School has started tests begin sept 3rd.

This is a no brainer for me. I saw (as all of you did) EA do some amazing things in the Gator game that I don't think Rick could have done. The TD throw back across his body to the TE with missle like speed and accuracy. I saw a young kid on national tv with over 100K screaming with something like 3 minutes left in the game, down by 7 and a 4th and 6th throw a dart for around 20 someodd yards over the middle.
The kid has the "it" factor that most of us never understand. He is a superstar in the making and I think CPF knows that. Rick is a great kid from a great family and is the best back up in the nation and will probably be an awsome coach someday. CPF may start him agains UAB as a mind game of some sort. But make no mistake. EA is the man amongst boys and time will show it. How we were able to out to the west coast and get him still amazes me.

anyone can look good in practice, clausen, but we must not forget the games clausen looked good in, kentucky, vandy etc.....texas am, horrid defense,.....i just dont think he had the arm strength.....but, if we want to settle for 9-3 8-4....then by all means, lets start him....casey had some stats at UT, but, i would argue that any decent college quarterback would have stepped in and done the same things that he did with the talent he had around him....i dont know about you guys, but i am ready to get back to the elite teams in the country...you cannot do that with a mediocre quarterback with a great story....if he was that good he would not have left LSU.....
