I admit I was down on Rick Clausen at the beginning of the season last yr, he and C.J. looked pitiful to me. When Rick came in at the end of the season he did an excellent job IMO running the offense, was he flashy ? No. Was he successful? Yes. Does he deserve a shot at starting ?Yes. Will he? who knows? What I do know is that our coaching staff has a pretty good idea about evaluating QB's and whoever they start will do just fine. I remember a few seaesons ago when we were rotating Stewart and Manning in and out for awhile, and at the time Stewart impressed me more but look how that turned out. Man I can't believe I got sucked into another Qb thread!

I personally don't care who starts. If I didn't think CPF was smart enough to make the right decision, I'd start a thread to have him fired. Since I've started no such thread I guess that means that coach knows what he is doing. Of course, if someone wants to pay me about 2M, then I'll go and tell him who he needs to start, :D

It doesnt matter who starts. Both of the gentlemen are proven QBs.Rick isnt the best passer, but he did do enough to go 3-1 and almost upset Auburn.Watch that game again, because he threw a slant to Bret Smith on a 3rd and 9 that if he doesnt drop he scores and he had a long pass called back and so forth.Ainge beat teams like Fla and GA.Either way we are in good hands and if one struggles we have a capable back-up coming in any time.

Both should play in the UAB game. As far as starting, who knows. But both need to have real game time before Florida. Although the differences between Ainge and Clausen are not as apparent as those between Ainge and Shaffer, to keep the gators guessing up to game time could be good for us and may make the gators have to prepare for both the long game and the short game.

The Clausens are a class act...Rick is and Casey was...From what I have seen of their dad in interviews he seems to be as well...Hopefully we will have 4 years of Jimmy around here.

God Bless and Go Vols

I hope so. I would welcome a third Clausen.
