Dooley asked Wes Brown to leave facilities...

But, but, but....All they have to do is pick up the phone and call somebody, right?

That is what he had said about former vols visiting. Dooley was witty and you could not help but laugh at his sound bites but good lord was he a poor leader/ head ball coach/ CEO of the UTK program.

Not true! Dools very efficiently led us to consecutive 4 win seasons! :)

Another Dooley story - I would love nothing more than for the majority of the fan base to let go of the past (Kiffin/Dooley) and look forward to the bright future we have ahead of us. Let's put our effort into rallying around team# 117 for these last games and let's show them what Neyland can be like again just like we did against Georgia!

You act like we can't do both. It's fun to kick Dooley since he essentially drug UT football through mountains of steaming dog crap - and he walked away with $5 mil in his pocket. No, I think he should earn that $5 mil with our adoring bashing. :eek:lol:

Sometimes it helps us to appreciate where we have been in the past 5-7 years to where we are going.

I don't entirely disagree with the premise, but if he had done what he was "hired to do" he would still be here. I don't think Mike Hamilton can grab his butt with both hands.

I don't think we got 2 mill per year of work out of Dooley.

I agree but I'm sure you see what I'm saying. Also completely agree on Hamilton. Imo Hart is no Doug Dickey but thankfully he's no Mike Hamilton either.

Hart seems to be fair. He gave Dooley his fair shot and he also hired Jones, so few complaints from me anyways.

Really showing off your sub 60 IQ there, as nowhere in my post did I say that. You were the one wanting an article to dispute the fact to begin with

Obviously there is more that goes on beyond the scene that the media either does not know or chooses not to report on, but to parade something around as fact because some anonymous message board poster claims so takes stupid to a whole new level. Could it be true? Yes, but it could just as easily not be true as there are no facts either way proving this to have occurred or not occurred

Sub 60? You are precious!
Yeah, I asked for the article on the car towing, but knowing damn well there was no article. It was to prove a point, simple minded one. The point is that all things are not reported.
As for your Gruden obsession, since you cling to it like a piece of ship wreckage in this debate, yes I bought into the hope of it happening. It was like a mirage to the dying man lost in the desert. I wanted more than anything to see someone come here and put us back where we belong. Does that make me desperate or gullible at the time? Definitely. I think you should reserve the term stupid for the ones that defended Dooley to the bitter end.

if the story about eric berry's car is true, i apologize for ever referring to dooley as intelligent.

that has to be potentially the dumbest thing that he could have done other than tell peyton manning off.

It wasn't reported by VQ, therefore it's untrue.
Try to keep up.

This. And there were plenty of stupid folks. I was bashed very harshly for calling for Dooley's head. Many of us were. There were epic "sunshine pumpers" vs "negavols" threads, for any of you new folks here. This open-season bashing of Dooley, unabated by his defenders was hardly the case even shortly after his firing let alone during his woeful tenure.

So, if anyone disagrees with you, they are stupid. I get it.
Look, I'm sorry that your boy Dooley stunk the joint up and fell flat on his face, but that's no need to lash out at the "stupid" people that actually saw him for what he was.

Don't waste your time, Doyle. Vol2013 has always been a jackwagon on here.

NB4 time to let go? If it were a kiffin thread, it would be supersaturated with time-to-let-go's

Your attempts at insults lead me to the conclusion
That you are either
(A) a member of Congress or
(B) a 4 yr old...

I havent come to a definitive conclusion yet...
Either way, its not looking too bright...

I have to admit I was in Dooleys corner until the Mizzou debacle last year. And anything I had left for him was gone after candy blew us up. I think a lot of us just supported him because he was our schools coach. Now that he's gone & so many things have come to light (some true, some not I'm sure) I think it was probably the worst hire since Hellabama hired Mike "get me to the titty bar" Price!
The best (worst) story I heard on Dooley was how he stopped PEYTON MANNING from going into the PEYTON MANNING Locker Room on one of his visits to campus. Again I don't know if the tale is true, but with Dooley, I wouldn't doubt it. He was the poster child for the "I'm entitled" type of people.

Dooley didn't specifically ask Wes Brown to leave the complex. The following link explains what really happened.

Angst with access: Confusion at UT over who is allowed, and when, at practices » GoVolsXtra

Next up: Dooley responsible Japan's earthquake and tsunami.

Could you post the article that says he tried to tow Eric Berry's car instead of going off some clown on a message board?

Both of you guys need to stop trying to impress your english teacher wives/girlfriends, what with your proper citations and/or asking for links to sources before believing they are true or not.

I can't believe we live in a world where someone wouldn't believe the crazy story that a random stranger says on a message board.

Cool, just saying since it was put in the middle of a debate I was involved in.
No worries.

Debate is a little generous. You two basically just flamed each other for 4 pages without any real discussion. All I learned is that you both think the other one is stupid. That and that maybe Dooley tried to get Berry's car towed at some point (but that the other guy isn't so sure that's true).

Anyway, carry on. Threads about old coaches seem to always go that way anyway so I shoulda seen it coming.

Is there anything he did well?

He had 90% of VN saying wait till he gets his 3 star players n n he coaches them up.. We will be contending n now 90% r saying these players stink n wait till cbj gets his players but now everyone OK with 4 n 5 stars...lol
