The money players and the University are not foolish. When they look at the bottom line $$, and the W/L record, I'm pretty certain they are able to put 2+2 together and will do the right thing.

The grudenites, well that's just a bunch of juniors pissing up a dream rope. Gruden has a dream job, has won the biggest game of them all. He's a smart man. Smart men don't do stupid things like taking over a Div1 football team with a fan base like UT's. End of that.

And, yes, we can support our team and, if one wishes, not our coach, it's easy to send our AD an e-mail expressing one's displeasure.

UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Inside Tennessee

First of all, I agree with you. Nobody should be happy with were we are in terms of W/L right now. But displeasure and hostility are not one in the same. I think the way our fan base express their disapproval of the HC makes this job less appealing to other potential home run hires. If Dooley isn't the right guy then how much "wiggle room" does the next guy have?

I support the players, the coaches, and the University. If they decide to change coaches, I will support that decision. Until then, emotional crying and whining, what ever will not change a thing. Don't think for a minute that Hart is not on top of the situation and is making rational decisions.

Wrong. Many a coach has lost his job to public outrage. If you don't think that the emotional outcry of a fan base can't change things you haven't been around sports for very long.

Terrible logic. Just ask Fulmer, Zook, Valentine, Rodriguez, Van Gundy, and Bowden (just to name a few).

Don't think for one second that Hart doesn't cringe every time he goes by the rock.

Oh, so it was you who started all of this...thanks.....

Actually I liked Fulmer but will admit I complained because he couldn't beat Florida. What I wouldn't give to only have to worry about beating Florida every year.

I'm still waiting for some explanation on today's game. I guess you all have yanked yourself into a coma over Dooley's amazing progress?

Right 'chere. Might be the only one. This game blew everyone's minds...Even Dooley's. Both defenses were an insult to swiss cheese. I'm gonna wait for the rest of the season to play out before I jump off on the wagon, but DANG. This game did not help his case with the fans. I want to know what the heck happened to last week's team. But if a moral win is still a loss, no exceptions, then I guess a moral loss is still a win--no exceptions. I'm just glad the players have a better attitude than the fans. They had fun and were glad to get the win. No matter how it happened.

How much paint do you have to huff to equate supporting the head coach of the UT football team cheering the VOLS to win with wanting the VOLS to lose and suck?

They are daydreaming that this incompetent Defensive staff got fired and hired Chavis. Then they think Dooley will be next Bobby Bowden of Tennessee.

It's a shame because I kept telling people firing CPF was a mistake. He was a Tennessee player, & coach through & through. He made 1 bad offensive coordinator decision with Clawson and most fans crucified him for it. It's funny because Georgia is in the same boat about to make the same bad decision with Rickt who is averaging 10 wins a yr and they are calling for his head! In today's college FB world stability is everything. With only 25 scholarships it only takes 1 or 2 misses on players or coaches & it can kill a season or 2. With that said Sunseri has to go and maybe all the defense coaches. The offense is averaging and more prolific than any in history. The special teams are vastly improved and continue to improve each week. Hell Palardy is making everything now and that was the only issue special teams has had all year. With that said I think CDD needs at least 5 years to rebuild what Kiffin destroyed. If the defense can improve greatly then we could beat anyone! The defense needs new scheme and depth and speed!

Just my thoughts!

For some reason if a person supports the program they are a "Doolite". I have not expressed my opinion on the coaching staff I have only supported this team and will for the remainder of the season.
There is a large number of posters on this board that bash the staff and team, laugh at the troubles we are having, and even hope for us to lose so Dooley will be gone. To me this is pathetic. It is never a good thing for a coach to be fired during the season. A new coach will not be hired until seasons end. As a true bleed orange Tennessee fan I will support and pull for whomever our coach is.
Am I a Dooley supporter? Yes because he is still the head of our football team. Am I happy with the results I have seen this year? No, not at all. Will I join in the bashing of this team and staff? H3ll No! I am loyal to my school. When the time comes for a change there will be a change, but some of the idiotic things that have been stated on this board is shameful.
If you are pissed off about how this season has played out you have every right to be. However there are still games to be played, wether you think they are important or not, they are very important to our players and staff. So, until season end I support this team 100%. You are either all VOL or your not. There is no "doolite" or "negavol" only Vol or no Vol. Or at least thats how I feel. and thats my rant....

This is me-If I ever see large Phil, I owe him a hell of an apology. These days my balls shrivel up like grape nuts at the thought of playing Vandy.

Nicely said. I concur.

I am right here. As long as he is the coach, I will always be a supporter. Plain and simple. Many forget when Kiffin left, this was not a desirable destination being the current state of the program and three weeks before signing day... I know everyone thinks this is the greatest position in the world (I tend to agree), but not everyone does unless they get PAID BIG TIME! Dooley took the challenge, somewhat salvaged the recruiting class, and did a decent job on the recruiting front. He was there for us at the Vol's darkest hour (some may argue it is right now). I will always be thankful. With that being said, it is apparent the SEC was a bit over his head. That goes for coaching AND recruiting (solid considering). For Tenn it is hard to recruit at any time due to the high school football having a smaller pool to pick from and it is ESPECIALLY more difficult when you are not winning. I think he has at least provided some depth and talent to work with going forward.

Now, are you asking me if it is time for a change? Yes, I think now there is no question as fans, players, possible recruits, and boosters are ready for a change and nothing less would be acceptable. I think Dooley would do good in the ACC, or perhaps even a smaller conference. His heart was in the right place.

Flamers, flame on! :peace2:
