Dooley Isn't going anywhere!

Today was supposed to be the day.

Big huge announcement about CDD resigning and CJG being the next coach.

Well, we see how that went.

CDD is our HC. Simply not going to change this year or next.

Lets support our Vols and get behind the program.. enough with wanting Dooley's head and what not.

GO VOLS... BEAT TROY!!!!

Just because it did not happen today does not mean it will not happen.

The last nail in Dooley's coffin was the lost to So Car.

Whether he gets the boot tomorrow, Wednesday, next week or next month, his fate is sealed. Dead man walking. Then thankfully we can close the ugly chapter in Tennessee history.

come on man, no need for anymore "we are ut. Not vandy, moral victories don't count. 0-5 to start sec past 3 years. Lost to kentucky with a wr as qb, blown out by alabama every year. Defense is a mess, play calling is questionable a lot of the time. 7-5 is an aweful season for ut. Blah blah blah." its common sense.

great post!!!

They may keep him.. They let him coach this year out without saying anything about his job status, then i'd say that's just what they plan to do.. You can't let it go that long then all of a sudden start looking for a coach.. If that happens, fire Hart while they're at it..

Wh hired Hart in the first place? He still has his links with bammer and I wouldn't trust him to take Smoky the Hound Dog for a walk.

If Dooley ends up staying, it will be a sad day for Tennessee Vols Football. It will mean the boosters care more about money than having a successful program.

Dooley does not have what it takes to be a SEC coach.

IMO, a lot of people are scared that we will get someone worse than Dooley. I believe this is where a lot of them are hesitant and look for bright spots or excuses as why getting rid of him is a bad thing.

The problem is that, yes it is a gamble to bring in a new coach (Gruden, Strong, etc.). However, we know how this team will perform under Dooley. 2.66667 years and we have seen enough. It is time to take the risk.

If we keep him, we will have a 16-30th ranked recruiting class which cannot compete with the big boys in the SEC. If we stay on this road, we lose a proud and storied tradition of a major program who has become complacent with the 6-9 spot in the SEC because we were scared to compete.

His record the last three years.

The play of his defense this year.

His programs lack of development throughout his tenure here.

That's all great. Many of you guys are getting on here saying its a foregone conclusion that Dooley is getting canned. There is no evidence whatsoever that is happening. Hart hasn't said anything. I'm fine with Dooley staying another year. I'm also fine with them getting someone else. But let's not act like we all have any idea of what's going on. Feel free to be angry. I'd be more surprised if Dooley is fired than to see him back next year.

I think if the Hammy was honest he would tell you that Dooley was hired as the interim coach in 2010.

Like I said, they can do whatever they want. As long as Dooley is the coach, I have spent my last cent on this program or its merchandise.

I will join the other thousands upon thousands that will not put up the money or the time and effort to attend the games. If they keep him I hope we average about 60k next season. It would serve them right for keeping this nimrod in charge.

And if he starts to win? What if Dooley is standing on the sideline at the SEC championship next year directing the Vols? Still going to not support the program?

I am not happy with mediocrity.. not happy at all...

But...

I will take being a mediocre SEC team over a top level ACC or WAC or Big team ANY DAY..

We compete with the BEST College football teams in the nation week in and week out...No moral victorys but our peers are not bottom feeders...

Oh joy! We get to start 0-5 in the SEC again next year. Anyone who still supports this joke of a coach need his/her head examined.

This sentence is absolutely meaningless. I'd rather be in the upper echelon of the SEC than be among the bottom feeders of the SEC, which is where we now find ourselves. Dooley will never be a head coach in an SECCG. He doesn't have the ability to coach a team to that level.

Its ok to get your butts kicked every week as long as you're losing to good teams? Thats a great way to look at things....Retarded

I get your enthusiasm. But what game in the past 2.6667 years shows you that Dooley is capable of getting the 10-12 wins necessary to get to the SEC championship game. It's great to speculate and be a little biased smelling orange roses and looking through orange tinted sunglasses, but I can't see how this could happen. We are better in most aspects of the game but at the end of the day W's and L's is all anyone will remember.

Agreed ...not sure what is so scarey though ...I could lose virtually every SEC game as the coach . There is no trick to losing ..anybody can do that . How could we do worse ?

This is exactly what the program needs - another coaching change. Current players with top SEC ability declare early, x-fer or take the Jamal Lewis route (remember him playing soft his JR year so as to not jeopardize his NFL shot). Oh...and the new recruiting '13 class...ranked in the top 15? Well get ready for a 30ish ranked team and more cellar dwelling from UT until Romney finishes his 1st term.

Gruden you say? Pleeeeeeaassse. He makes $4m+ as a play-by-play guy. He ain't coming - get over it. Would you? No. Charlie Strong you say.....perhaps. But its taken him 2-3 years to pull it together.

If Dools goes 7-5, wins a bowl game and ends 8-5 - he gets another year - p.e.r.i.o.d.

Substitute another college/coach with a two year run of 5-7 and then 7-5 with a bowl win and you stick with him. No brainer.
