Dooley says he is not being fired...

Why is this scary? Other than maybe the fact that a lot of us have known that Hart would wait until the end of the season and it's scary that there are so many level headed posters on VN?

It's scary that Dooley still thinks he can stay. You know nothing about what's going to happen now or the end of the year, so don't pretend you do you pretentious ass

Two words . . . Plausible deniability. It's kind of like not having to say you've been turned down by a prospective hire because you had a search firm doing the leg work.

Now that I can believe. thanks as always.

No way he's retained. Hart should've told him because Dooley is right, the conflicting reports are not fair to his family.

Hart just doesn't have the stones to tell him the truth. Even though I have been calling for dools head since Trey Burton's 80 yard scamper, I still like CDD as a person and feel sorry for him.

Put yourself in Dave Hart shoe's...

As long as Derek is coach, Dave has a free pass. When Derek screws up, Dave can just shake his head and say "That was a Hammy hire".

So by keeping Derek in place for as long as possible, it basically extends the time that Hart is on our payroll. Once he picks his own coach, then the clock starts running. Right now, he is playing with house money.

Make sense?

True, but I'd say if Dooley is retained for next season then the sh!t will start to spray back in Hart's face. At some point it becomes his responsibility for not firing Dooley.

It does make sense. I hope the free pass has expired. Hopefully Hart can pull a solid coach out of the bag.

I've heard from many friends that are donors, (not huge Haslam-like donors, but donors nonetheless) that Hart is a very indecisive guy. He can't seem to make his mind up on an issue and stick to it.

I would suspect that there might be negotiations to allow Dooley to "resign" and avoid the FIRED stamp on his resume.

Am I mistaken, didn't Hart make it known during basketball season that Pat Summit was told she would not be back next year.

I think we all, DD included, just want this nightmare to end. DD and the players have a game to prepare for, the rest of us have nothing but time to ponder what is happening or is going to happen. We have 2 games left, and regardless of what happens in those 2 games, it will probably be the Monday following the Kentucky game before we know anything. And even then, all we will probably know is if DD will be coaching here next season or not. There will be a "coaching search", even if Hart already has his man, there has to be due dilligence, there is too much liability on the University to fire CDD and turn around and announce a replacement without interviews and such. The best we can do, at least IMO is stop reading into everything, sit back and wait and see, and in the mean time, support our guys and hope that we can beat Vandy and Kentucky. Everything else will work itself out.

The apple doesn't fall from the tree. His son just left UT-Chattanooga to take the AD role at SMU last summer, and he was the same way concerning the basketball program after last season.

I believe that is what Pat said in her affidavit, but Hart denies it. If it is true... it would be evident that Hart speaks from both sides of mouth.

Eleven million dollars for zero quality wins. I feel as sorry for him as I did Nick Saban Saturday night.
