Is it not possible that Dooley has been told by Hart to keep his dismissal under his hat until after the last game?
I cannot believe that Dooley doesn't suspect or even know that his days as Head Football Coach at Tennessee are numbered......in spite of what Hart may be saying to him. Firing a coach before the end of the season is never a good idea unless said coach has had some kind of run-in with the NCAA or has displayed some questionable character issue.

What I don't understand is, according to Basilio's blog, Hart and the boosters are doing some black ops manuveuring behind the scenes and using Dooley as a front for this ultra complex coaching search. But then, Tony's list of candidates aren't anything really special. You really need to jump through all these hoops to secure an Al Golden? Really?

Sounds like the cat is out of the bag, but if TN wins then holding off on the announcement was a good move.

What Basilio is saying is possible. But what I don't believe, is that Dooley addressed the team, and that a room full of college kids have kept their mouth shut. No way am I buying that. There would be a lot more leaks if that locker room scene actually happened

Dave Hart said if we go 6-6 and go to a bowl I'm safe, well not so fast my friend, just because Hart said your safe doesn't mean your safe from the millions of Vol fans.
Derek, you may want to rethink staying at UT as it may indeed be in your best interest to leave while you still have a chance. Your a smart guy please think about it.

I have worries about Dooley being here next year. No news is good news while they lock up the net coach. Hopefully JG.

I was told today by a reliable source that Steve Spurrrier was seen getting off a university tn. chartered jet on sunday evening.the man has been a donor for over forty years an got a phone call from knoxville yesterday from one of his friend.

Playing with heart outstanding ,we have fought till the end in every game!
Recruiting above avg.
Win loss average!
That would be above average and not enough to fire the man before his first senior class season IMO!

1 or 2 years from now, you are not going to remember the moral victories, you will just remember we finished the season 6 - 6 (+- bowl) or 4 - 8.

Just like how we came so close to beating LSU and UNC and no one cares about it this year.

Our win loss is below average at best!
