Gibson reminds me of VY...very athletic but lacks accuracy. ...Dormady looks good on film from A&Ms 7 v 7

Dormady will be our QB....he will be a 4 star in all recruiting sites after his senior season....watch his film, then watch Gibsons!! Dormady is a QB....and with our Wr's, we need a QB, not an athlete....I want Gibson, and think at 6'4 with his agility, he'd be a stud CB or FS...thats gonna be his ticket to the next level!

Gibson is going to "The Barn" He was leaning toward Auburn before the Dormandy commitment and I bet that now he is fully on with Auburn.

At The Opening he spoke of how different of a HC CBJ was and at the camp the 1 player he would love to play with on the same team was Kahlil McKenzie :dunno:

JJ is going to be our stud DB. TG will either be a QB or WR.

Ferguson was beating out Dobbs based on performance but the will to compete was obviously lacking based ont he fact that he just quit. He didnt quit because he could not beat out Dobbs. He quit because Jones wasnt going to give him the starting job over Worley who, all else being equal, had the experience even though all indications from camp and the O&W game was that none of them were particularly good. Worley was anointed the leader for the starting job based on reps with the first team and experience.

If that statement is anywhere near being true, then you don't want that guy ever taking a snap in a real game. A FR quitting b/c he doesn't get to start over a senior? He really thought that?

Problem is, nobody on this board has probably ever met one of these QBs, let alone knows a single real thing @ them outside of TV or Neyland seats. Yet, so many speak as if they were there. :birgits_giggle:

From everything I've heard that statement is true. Million dollar arm, 5 cent head as they say. He made a huge mistake leaving IMO but it's best for the program.

Inner drive produces outer results!! Competition drives individuals harder and causes the weaker to fall to the wayside. So bring them all on and may the best man win so we can win!!

I think they were talking about Riley not TB

I really don't understand why people keeping over looking Dobbs. Ferg was the next manning, and now Dormady is gonna give Dobbs a run for his money. WTF? Was I the only person who saw How much better Dobbs looked this spring? Versus 2's or not, he was slinging the ball with great accuracy and had some zip on his throws...much less the wheels he showed. That being said, I hope Worley has an All SEC season. I think with the weapons he has at his disposal and if the pieces fall into place...he just might. Write it down, take a picture...I don't give a F%$#!!!

The q.b. on the bench is always the favorite when the starter isn't doing so hot, but it's not often that your bench player (who is normally there for a reason) outshines the starter. I'm sure there are some examples, but I'm also sure the coaches start the better player 9/10 Times

I don't think Dormady will redshirt. When he arrives we will only have Dobbs and Peterman. I am sure we will make room for Gibson if he wants to come to UT. I just don't see how you can take 3 QBs in the same class though. Jennings and Gibson could play other positions but both want to be QB in college. My quess is Gibson will probably end up elsewhere.

So in camp none of them were good, but Rf was beating Dobbs? People just ignored the bad things that came out like Ferguson's multiple turnovers. He was getting beat by Dobbs and Worley and ran away. They were all pretty close but his turnover prone nature was too much to overcome. We saw it in the O&W game. Dobbs and Worley were starting to separate from the pack and he knew it.

Just not true. I agree that he ran away but it had more to do with his immaturity and frustration with not being named the starter over Worley, not because he wasn't ahead of Dobbs because he clearly was. This is all your uninformed opinion with absolutely no facts/documentation to back it up. I'm a Dobbs fan but by all accounts (including the fact that he played almost exclusively with/vs the 2s in the O&W game) suggests that he was running 3rd behind Worley and Ferguson this Spring. I JUST heard Brent Hubbs say, AGAIN, that Dobbs was very inconsistent throughout the entire Spring and the O&W game was BY FAR his best showing all Spring.

Again, I'm a big Dobbs fan because I think he's a great kid and can bring a different dimension to QB for UT. I sincerely hope he takes a huge leap with his accuracy, ball security and decision-making when fall camp starts and is the starter on August 31. But I'm not gonna make stuff up about what happened in the Spring and miscast the facts of where Dobbs and the other QBs stood this Spring. I wish you would do the same.

Ok stop with the Black /White BS. If I claimed the ones wanting QD wanted him because he was White you and others would throw a fit. It is probably true for some with the way people seem obsessed with bashing a top 20 player at any chance.

I want Gibson who has way more potential. When people start saying Dormady could win a Heisman and comparing him to a bunch of probable college Hall of Famers and say he could get drafted I will change how I think. There is no category Dormady beats him in except being more consistent with his accuracy. Not surprising since Dormady is a coach's son who has been a qb his whole life. That can be fixed easily with a little work. Every other qb attribute Gibson beats him in or matches. Gibson dominated better competition on the field also.

If wanting top rated players is stargazing so be it. Enough of the Dooley diamond in the rough or he is better than the ranking crap. They both have the same amount of qb film. They both have been seen in camps. 247 has seen them both in person and their one year of films and reranked them. Gibson is still way higher on 247. He has more potential and is a better fit for the O.
Gibson is a better athlete but you are more obsessed with him than the staff is as a QB. Our coaching staff seems to be less enthusiastic about him as a passer.

I'll take it a step further. I don't think the staff is actively recruiting him period. Heard Doug Mathews say, in consecutive weeks, that UT is absolutely done with their 2015 QB recruiting and that he doesn't believe Gibson is in their plans at all. Kid's a great athlete but doesn't seem like a fit to me....unless he can play CB, DL or OL.

But he runs real fast KB!...and he's a?...4 star?...so we HAVE to take him?
