Dykes went 5-7 his first season at La Tech, with all Dooley's players. He didn't have a lot of positives to say about the situation he inherited there either.

The freshmen/sophomore thing was thrown into it because that was essentially our team last year. It was made up of them and you can't expect a team that is that young to be consistent throughout the year. Hell, even Fulmer's Sr laden NFL teams would lay an egg at least once a year.

To which I agreed that AJ and Curt did improve. Not saying that Randolph didn't get better, but I think not at the same rate as the others you mentioned.

What's the issue with anything I said? Is it that it's simply not a glowing post that made every excuse in the book for the things that didn't go right last year? Dang, dude. I never got disrespectful or smartassed, and you go trying to twist everything like I had evil intentions. Smh.

Don't be another guy that thinks that anyone that disagrees with you is being an ass. It was a good discussion between two guys that have different views on the matter....or so I thought.

From what I recall, he was talking **** with a couple of SEC coaches about having as good of players on his roster as SEC schools.

If he had some negatives to say about the situation, please share them.

Anyone that does is an idiot. The program wasn't "burnt to the ground" as some say, but it was a difficult situation.

The fact that Kiffin is still getting ridiculed for taking a better job is funny when you consider the fact that the the "great VFL" Derek Dooley tried his damnedest to get the North Carolina job last summer when Davis was fired. Thing is, UNC is not a better job than Tennessee

See above. I wasn't trying to twist words. I thought by you asking if any freshmen/sophomores improved implied that you didn't think any had improved. I saw a number of players that improved.

Not an excuse. I'd call that a fact. Name me any other coach that could come in and win with the talent that Dooley inherited and you'd be hard pressed to name many coaches that could've fielded a team that could've won that many games. If you have to rely on freshmen, and starting freshmen at that, you usually are going to struggle. There are years and years of proof of that.

I never said anything remotely close in regards to the hoops program because Pearl was forced out. That was someone else.

Ok my bad. I'll admit it if I am wrong. We'll just chalk it up to getting wires crossed.

As I stated earlier, I could handle the records better if I truly felt that we were making strides- as a team that is. We'll see what this year brings. Hopefully, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have seen no official accounts of the event, but I have heard mention of it. I'm not saying it did or didn't happen, but it's not the first time I've heard it.

Well if it actually happend you would think we would have heard about it by now. Stuff like this makes it here pretty fast. First I have heard about it and without any proof it's hard to believe.
