people who dont know about dr. punch are fooling themselves if they think hes not connected. hell we bring him on our local radio to talk football on a weekly basis. he does this at numerous stations around the country weekly. he's a huge college football guy, very smart, has integrity, and didnt suddenly lose all his contacts because he got a gig with nascar.

my sis was worked at IVK for 20 years. i respect the heck outta all those around the program. save hyams. even hyams is a big player around the program guys. more than u think. but these guys have connections that you and i cant imagine!!

if u dont think jerry punch is an insider u are mistaken. he is smart enough not to divulge his sources. even hammonds used to get a bad rap. dont get it.

And now that the Gruden stuff is starting to unravel, perhaps we can actually start discussing the POSSIBILITY of other coaches.

I mentioned a couple of times that in re: Dr. Jerry Punch's comments about Hart having a guy already in the bag, that I have family that knows Punch personally and that his opinion is, was, and will be that Hart has Jimbo Fisher locked up.

Let me reiterate something. I AM NOT SAYING THAT JERRY PUNCH IS CORRECT. Just that, IF Jerry Punch is correct, then the coach Hart has in the bag is Fisher.

I could complain about how my single post about Fisher got deleted, and that 12 threads with 9,000+ posts each about Gruden live on in sad and overwrought idealism, but I'd rather actually discuss the merits of coaches that may actually come here.

I could be wrong, Gruden could be walking up and down Volunteer Blvd. in his only his super bowl ring and a UT thong...

I'm only dismissing Gruden, because I've not seen one shred of evidence that in any way leads me to believe that he will be the coach. I challenge someone to provide such evidence.

This is a rumor thread. We have nearing an infinite amount of posts about Gruden. Why not at least talk about other candidates?

I personally would love to have Fisher. Is he my first choice no, but we don't live in a first-best world. We live in a second-best world, where compromise rules, even for Tennessee football.
