Dr. Jerry Punch Believes Hire Complete

Yep. I think one of his kids went to UT. I remember him being a fan for some reason.

If Dr. Jerry Punch is correct, and please read that as a big IF, and UT has the guy, I know that Punch believes it to be Jimbo Fisher.

Again, I'm not saying that Punch is correct, just that he thinks UT will hire Fisher.

I have no great source, other than family connected to Clemson who are friends with the good Doctor. They told me Saturday evening, as they tailgated for the USCe game, that Punch believes Fisher is coming to UT for two reasons: 1)He has been unable to get the AD to upgrade the facilities and the FSU AD is in a bad financial situation. and 2) that Fisher has a sick child who would benefit from the superior children's hospitals in this area and a they would be closer to the main hospital in Minnesota.

I didn't really believe it until Punch made the statement today about "already having the guy", as my source also said that Punch believes UT already has Fisher.

LOL @ people questioning Dr. Punches knowledge of football. The man is super connected as well. I remember a couple of months ago he stated that he had been a part of a couple of search firms in the past. So I'm sure the man knows the inner workings of a coaching hire more than those clowning him. That's all I've got....

I would welcome Charlie Strong...not sure it's going to happen though...CCS has a TON of talent (to be read as heisman candidate at QB) returning on an already good team...hopefully that game against UConn this past weekend was just a "fluke" and he / the team was looking past them to meeting Rutgers again and a Big East Title / BCS Bowl berth.

Yeah beating a bunch of 1 and 2 win teams and losing to Syracuse and a 4-6 UConn team just gives me chills when I think of UT hiring him as UT's HC.

Yea im not buyng that. He was referring to Gruden most likely. Fisher said he hasnt talked to anybody from any school.

I am not sure they would hire Fisher this early. Not saying they wouldnt but I believe a couple of coaches wold have to say no first. Hard for me to believe a definite no wouldnt get leaked out.. who knows though I never thought they would hire dooley either.

The Vandy blowout changed that, and Hart wasn't happy about it. Those who had issues with Hart's thinking then understandably have confidence issues now.
