I'd say he was for 2 years. Right now it's Manning, Brady, Rodgers.

He has been since roughly 06. I do think Rodgers will be better down the road, but as of right now brees is still ahead of him imo.

Aaron Rogers is better.

Manning/Brady are much better.

Rivers is as good as Brees.

What have Rodgers or rivers done so far that make them better than brees? Nothing. Yes brady and manning are the top 2 I think everyone agrees on that.

First off, Rodgers has been nothing short of great since taking over at Green Bay, his postseason play last year alone is enough to surpass Brees.

Rivers does more with a lot less on a yearly basis, I can only imagine what Rivers' numbers would be in that system and those players.

I think Manning was better than Brees last year. Their stats are comparable, I think Brees had 5 more INT's, but Manning was piecing it together with a pretty beaten up WR/TE corps. I prefer more of the tier approach to ranking. I think the top tier is Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers. 2nd-Tier: Vick, Roethlisberger, Ryan, Freeman, Cassel, Schaub. etc.

Yeah brees didn't do pretty much the exact same thing the year before. Brees is still ahead imo but that most likely will change in 2 years. Also for the better part of his career rivers has had Vincent jackson, antonio gates, LT, and sproles. Id say that is comparable to what brees has in new orleans.

There isn't a GM in the league that would take Brees over Rodgers.

When it comes to which players we support in the NFL, it depends how well they are doing, if the player is only mediocre or not good we don't care about them or their teams... Don't believe me? Ask a vols fan.

Dude, shut up. No one is responding to you because you are clearly trying too hard to maintain your neutrality. Manning > Brees period. It wouldn't matter if he had gone to Alabama and won them 3 titles. The majority of people (including most of the posters here) would still say Manning is better because he IS better.

Just look at the stats...pretty simple indicator to me.

I'm the stat guy, and I don't believe that. Rivers is a stat machine, but if you look at all his stats you'll see that he's not as efficient as you'd think. He has one of the best lines in the NFL, but he still gets sacked a lot. It's because he holds onto the ball so damn long (like Big Ben). So Rivers has a high passer rating because his guys have longer to get open, and if they don't instead of killing drives with forced throws (incompletions and interceptions) he kills drives with sacks. Sacks don't count against you in passer rating, but they hurt the team a lot. As Total QB rating indicates, Rivers racks up a lot of his stats when they don't need it.

Much better td/int ratio, higher yard per attempt, Brees thows a ton of short passes that any QB can complete, the WR then does all the work.

The last 2 years, Brees has 51 turnovers to Rivers' 32.

Brees:
2010 = 3.3 INT%, 3.7 SK%, 9 fumbles
2009 = 2.1 INT%, 3.7 SK%, 10 fumbles
2008 = 2.7 INT%, 2.0 SK%, 6 fumbles
2007 = 2.8 INT%, 2.4 SK%, 9 fumbles

Rivers:
2010 = 2.4 INT%, 6.6 SK%, 7 fumbles
2009 = 1.9 INT%, 4.9 SK%, 6 fumbles
2008 = 2.3 INT%, 5.0 SK%, 8 fumbles
2007 = 3.3 INT%, 4.6 SK%, 11 fumbles

Brees has shown an ability to avoid sacks and INT's (with the exception of 2010).

Rivers is also a whiny *****. He'll never win anything of note because he pouts and sulks when things don't go his way. I doubt Total QB rating takes that into account.

BS

Right now there are 3 QBs better. Rodgers, Brees and Brady are all better at this stage in their careers than Manning. Sorry

Rodgers' backup set Packers franchise records. What was Manning's backup doing this year? What was Brady's backup doing in '08?

Yeah - because it's fair to rank a player who didn't take a snap all year due to injury.

:crazy:

My ranking of Manning has EVERYTHING to do with the fact he has had to sit out this year. If he had played this year, I certainly would put him in the top 3.

Regardless, Aaron Rodgers is the best of all QBs RIGHT NOW and when he is done (relatively free of injuries), he will be a 1st ballot HOFer.

Lol - you really going to say that after 1 great season and a great playoff run? He didn't stay playing like the current Rodgers till like week 2 of the playoffs last year.

He's been really good ever since he took over for Favre. Actually, compared to most everyone else in the league, he's been great since he took over for Favre. He makes throws NO ONE makes into windows NO ONE would try. Plus he has really good wheels.
