Lol, you must be referring to Ryder.
He's definitely got a lot of jackass in him. Maybe he got that tweaked when he had the bypass done.
He didn't. He's still a horrible human being. I put in 4 years and never got formal invites for Alumni Band. I got invited by other alums and refused. I won't go back until he is no longer involved with the Pride. Stewart should be promoted immediately. He's superior to Ryder.
Thanks, but couldn't hear them

Loved the experience! Enroute back to seats in XX when this happened. Now WHY did the POTS only play two songs & alma mater at halftime? The crowd sat on its hands for the final 14 minutes! The band is terrific, but there's a real lack of "arrangements"; mostly unison riffs & cheer ditties. I miss those classic Barry McDonald arrangements!
I never had a formal invite to Alumni band and I marched 5 years under Julian, Sparks and Romines. Bite the bullet and request information.
I also did 4 years, and was a squad leader my last 2. I never got anything for alumni band until last year, but I had to call Judy and tell her I wasn't getting anything and I guess she added me to the list. Not saying that's a solution, and I completely agree that their alumni outreach needs a bigger presence than what it is.
My interactions with Ryder were few and far between. I definitely heard things about how he treated people, but never personally experienced anything, good or bad.
I was going to be a senior, 4th year marcher my last year. There was 1 going to be junior, 3rd year marcher. Everyone else was sophomore or freshmen. That asshat picked 2 of the becoming-sophomores to be squad leaders over me. He can burn in a fire and I'd look for marshmallows. And I don't even like marshmallows.
lol
If everyone got mad about squad leader selections, we'd all be salty.
I was pissed that I had to teach all the new people everything because they picked people that literally had 1 season under their belts instead of those who knew how things worked. Then the Junior got relieved of his duties and, instead of promoting me for the 2nd half of my last season, they took the sister of our grad student, a clarinet, to take over as my squad leader.
The band normally plays longer even if there is a visiting band. Is this one of the changes they are making to reduce the band's playing time? If so, it makes no sense.
