Drum line hype session

I don't believe so. I thought it was odd that they went right to the finale, but when I heard it was Sing Sing Sing, I just assumed they were going to play the entire song, which is kind of long. Since it was the first show and they played such a difficult song, I give them a pass on only playing 2 songs instead of 3.

It WAS odd, & worrisome. Full band NOT going to Athens nor Nashville this year. Dr. Julian would have never stood still for this!:cray:

Epic!

Team circling the drummers while high-fiving each other then going completely nuts in the middle.

The Aggies must have been searching for some clean pants after that.

My son (in the Pride) said the new director and Butch have been secretly working that one up for weeks now.

Thoughts on this new tradition?

AV
LOVED IT! AJ going nuts fired up the team, the crowd, the vendors, and even the guy sitting next to us with his ear buds in his ears.

Actually they're only going to Nashville. No other full band trip.

Only pep band to Nashville...AGAIN! P.O.T.S. has history of "wow-ing" fans here in Nashville. Shame that Hart refuses to fund this day trip.:cray:

I spoke with people in band a few days ago. All complained about how pissed they are that the only trip they're taking is Nashville.

I have seen every game at home for the last 30 years! For the most part we have never done anything like this or with the music. I was not happy at first but it seems to fire up the kids and this new thing with the drum line gets the band more involved and the Pride is a large part of the game day experience! I look forward to seeing some more ways to get the band involved and keep our game day traditions intact! GO VOLS!

I'm confused as to what there is to possibly be unhappy about. It's during a dead period pregame anyway.

I stand corrected. Our son marched in POTS 1998-2001. At least the full band is coming here. I love to see the circle drill & hear great Barry McDonald's arrangements!:hi:

I was told that the games we "might" go to all had something happen, like I think both UGA and SC are doing halftime presentations/ceremonies which wouldn't allow us to march a full show, so instead of sending the full band and making them learn separate exits, etc., they just they'd save the AD some cash and send pep bands.

Crusse, you ought to march this year just to see me try. I just registered.

A one-legged tuba player; I'm a catastrophe waiting to happen!

For years the POTS has played a concert in Miller Park (Chattanooga) enroute to Athens. My understanding is that this time the full band will do that, but only a pep band will continue on to Athens. If so, that's bizarre!:cray:
