Recruiting rankings mean everything if you want to win championships. Name the last team without a top 5 Recruiting ranking over a period of time to win it all. It's not a thing that happens oftenYep we will be in top 12-16 in recruiting, behind 5-6 other sec schools. But no worry. our coaches will overcome those disadvantages. Recruiting ranking mean little anyway.
We signed a 4 star in 23 not a 5
I am only hoping the team I love gets the best guys. There isn't one thing wrong with me wishing we can land better talentThere were only 10 5* DL for the entire ‘23 class.
You guys aren’t taken seriously bc your “concerned” we aren’t signing 5* DL when there are 7-8 in this class and 10 last class and we’ve had a single 10 win season in 15 years.
5* DL (minus Rushing) over these 2 cycles will have signed (if things go the way they’re trending in ‘24) with a HC who has a won NC as a HC or as a coordinator - the only exception being Ryan Day who is 45-6 and has been in the playoffs 3 out of the 4 seasons he’s been a HC.
With only one DT commit in the ‘23 class, and none so far in the ‘24 class, how concerned are you? Heard is listed as a DT, but I don’t think it’s a certainty that he stays there. You can’t win at the highest level without very good d-line play, and I’d hate to overrely on the portal. It’s a bit perplexing how we haven’t been able to recruit this position with more success given CRG’s reputation.
My belief in RG is so high I personally thought high ranked guys would run here to play for him. I may need to lower my expectations and give it time. I'm not knocking him at allYeah Daevin Hobbs was a 5-star on On3 but I think that’s the only service that had him listed as one. We had a couple that were but they dropped them to high/mid-high 4-stars.

I always tend to look at both LOS when considering the success of a class. Right now I'm really concerned about both lines. If we don't finish well on the lines, I don't see any way they can avoid taking a deep dive in the portal again this year. With only one DT commit in the ‘23 class, and none so far in the ‘24 class, how concerned are you? So in your opinion if a person doesn't take the time to find out how many 5* he has signed in his career that individual isn't bright. Oh OK you have yourself a great dayIn his entire career RG has landed four (4) 5* DL.
Daevin Hobbs is his 7th highest rated recruit of all time.
This no knock on RG. It’s to show you with actual facts and data how difficult and rare it is to land 5* DL and why anyone who complains about not landing 5* DL isn’t very bright.

Concern. Fans are concerned.
Question fans, since you know more about how to land recruits and have more skin in the game than the actual coaching staff:
How does the staff, your underlings, as you have concern about their performace, alleviate your concerns?
I have concern that the government is a stinking corrupt pile of garbage. How do I alleviate that? Vote?
I'll hang it up and listen...
And my point is that this particular position group its a waste of time to be concerned with in July because almost none of the top DLs have committed anywhere and historically our top commits at that position have come after Thanksgiving. Not sure why it's not possible to be slightly concerned AND not believe the sky is falling. It's like if we're not positive ALL the time we're trolls. Yes, we're gonna have a great class and yes, some positional recruiting is a bit concerning. That doesn't make me a troll.
Yeah... past his prime isnt the best phrase to use. I agree. Its more about his coaching "style" thats a bit too old school for todays affleets.A guy who tells kids the plain truth is never past his prime.
So far, he has taken what he's had at DT and DE and produced effective line play. The LEO has been underwhelming at times but that looks better now.
He's a guy who develops and gets everything a kid has.
