If all you care about is recruiting rankings, then we should have just kept Butch.
True.

But now that we have a guy that can develop talent, that makes us getting the most talented players all the more important.

You don't have to end every valid statement you make with a condescending snarky comment.

No need to call East865 lazy or dumb.

Yes, you're absolutely correct about those facts.
But the reality is that's (you're explaining) is just a copping mechanism against the same anger he's feeling. He's just reacting differently.

My man, analyzing facts and data isn’t a coping mechanism.

Sure it can be!

Putting things in perspective helps you face the reality.

With that said...he's definitely overreacting. 5 months and change till signing day.

Recruiting rankings mean everything if you want to win championships. Name the last team without a top 5 Recruiting ranking over a period of time to win it all. It's not a thing that happens often
Now that's a ridiculous take, and the answer to your question is Clemson.

With only one DT commit in the ‘23 class, and none so far in the ‘24 class, how concerned are you? Heard is listed as a DT, but I don’t think it’s a certainty that he stays there. You can’t win at the highest level without very good d-line play, and I’d hate to overrely on the portal. It’s a bit perplexing how we haven’t been able to recruit this position with more success given CRG’s reputation.
CRG has been handcuffed since the whole Pruitt fiasco kicked off our holier than thou movement.

In his entire career RG has landed four (4) 5* DL.

Daevin Hobbs is his 7th highest rated recruit of all time.

This no knock on RG. It’s to show you with actual facts and data how difficult and rare it is to land 5* DL and why anyone who complains about not landing 5* DL isn’t very bright.
You make a great point. There isn’t very many 5 star DT’s year in an out. The bigger key and what is being missed is that coaches like Garner have the great ability to find the quality 4 and even 3 stars and coach them up. Sometimes the only true difference between high 3 or 4 star versus a 5 is a year or 2 of great coaching and development. Also Garner has always been known as a late closer and finisher. He did it at Auburn and has done it here with West,Pierce and Bradley. Even at Auburn and Georgia he developed the talent he had. Over the years that is how you develop depth. Couple that with OL and DL are the hardest positions to project for the long haul, and this is why you thank your lucky stars we have good line coaches like Ellerbe and Garner. GBO
