Ducking the Ducks

Their skill players will run like Usain Bolt across the middle of the field against our slow LBs and will pick up big chunks of yardage. And their up tempo, no huddle offense will gas our D bigtime, forcing us to go into our 2 deep. With the horrid depth we have on that side of the ball, and an offense that could barely pick up a first down in the O and W game, it will be a bloodbath I'm afraid.

Yep. Our D will not be conditioned to play against up-tempo, no huddle offenses.

No.

Wait...

LOL thanks shows how much or rather how little I have studied schedules (not opening at VA 2nd game at VA). I find it interesting that both teams will have significant travel the week before the game though. Actually Oregon will have to go to and back while UT just goes "to".

Any given Saturday anything can happen, but Oregon is gonna take out their frustration of losing to Auburn, LSU, & having to hear about how superior the SEC is on the Vols in Eugene.

I hope we put up a fight @ Oregon & @ UF, i'd hate to lose any recruits as a result of back to back blowouts

Virgina will be little more than a scrimmage for Oregon. Virgina really sucks.

Last thing any team should do is pull a Michigan (Appy St) and lose to a team they are expected to beat. The very worst thing Oregon could do this year is let one of these teams give them a battle. And the first road game of the year can have some surprises.

You are being far too kind.

Oregon should name the score

chip Kelly gets an 18 month show cause penalty which should not start until he tries to come back to collage.18 months of no coaching collage football aint crap when your in the nfl. and they lost 3 scollys over three years, but im not for sure if it is 3 per year or 3 in a 3 year period. i hope that UTplays good ball against the ducks and makes the game respectable.

Seems legit. I am a firm believer that the penalty should follow the coach and not the U unless the U was active in the cheating, or gave up institutional control.

I believe it should be:

  • Kelly has a show cause that starts when he tries to come back to college.
  • Any player involved in the scandal should become ineligible.
  • Slap on the wrist scholies against the U, unless the AD was involved, or gave up control of the process.

I believe UT will have a shot at winning. Oregon relies on tempo, confusion, conditioning and speed to win. We will be practicing against a very similar offense. We will be conditioned by practicing against this tempo. Hopefully, we have speed and athleticism to match well.

I genuinely believe we will match up better than people expect. Not guaranteeing a win, but I think we will have a better chance than some expect.

From what I've read, it's one scholarship in each of the next three seasons.

I'm curious how you'd recommend dealing with this issue (see bold text), given the athlete never played for Oregon. Seastrunk plays for Baylor. When Seastrunk got to Oregon, it became clear that he was at best #3 on the depth charts behind Barner and Thomas. And from rumors going around he was actually #4 on the charts.

So question is does he become ineligible at Baylor?

I do like your concept.

Etk where you find that avatar? i used that one for years. i had someone put the T in it. i stikk doubletake when i see it.

A friend on Facebook had tagged me in a post with this on his timeline, quite a while back. When I started on here it was the only thing I had that didn't look like everyone else's' avi lol. I liked it and thought it made a unique avi. Maybe it wasn't as original as I thought lol.

been saying this for awhile..Oregon will not blow us out. Depending on our offense on if we lose or not... but it will not be a 20 something point loss like some "experts" are saying.

Not following the scandal closely, the second bullet was a general concept.

I haven't read anything suggesting that Seastrunk actually got any improper benefits. Just because Lyle guided him there doesn't mean that Seastrunk did anything wrong.

Yea that could be true. Of course as many at Tenn know, Seastrunk and Lyles pushed the limits at Tenn during the Kifin years. Just saying that when it happens more than once with the same player, you've got to suspect perhaps the player isn't completely without guilt in these things.
