Good point and I agree. But the (fake) olive branch was after he embarrassed himself by dissing Tony Vitello's jumping in the crowd celebration after we won in Omaha. He really had to do some damage control, because it was apparent he just "isn't into" Tennessee winning in anything.

If it means living rent free in his pee brain, then it's worth it.

I hate to say it but it’s true in my opinion because of quarterback play. Nico is killing drives by missing wide open receivers. I’m sure he’ll get better but dude needs to settle down and trust himself. So what if you throw a pick every now and then trying to thread one, better than 8 feet behind or over the receivers heads. He needs to give himself a chance and the receiver too.

He's actually one of the few ex Bammers I like. He calls it like he sees it even with his alma mater. He's not wrong. With how medicine our Oline, WR's and offense has been, we are definitely not a Championship team. Nothing he said wasn't wrong

The conversation was about UT. Its not like he went off on some tangent and brought it up...... Coming into the weekend there was a slight chance that UT would not control its own fate.. Bama, Ole Miss and Indiana losing changed that. Now its 100% in our hands. thing is even outside of all that no, UT does not look like a contender. We have Boat raced 4 teams way below our level. Lost to Arkansas. Beat a Bama team I'm not sure what to think about. Got outclassed by the weakest UGA team in CJH's tenure. We have played good enough against our other SEC opponents. There has not been one dominant performance against a good team this year.

UTEP (128) and Kent(134 of 134) State are 2 of the worst teams in FBS...Kent State is literally the worst. Chattanooga is FCS. And NC state we sent their QB to the shadow realm he thought it was his job to score for us. Funny thing our defense has ended the careers of at least 2 QB's and likely the functional careers of 2 more. The one saving grace of losing the Arkansas is they are bowl-eligible and have only lost to ranked teams. Could we get hot and win it all? sure...Should anyone be betting money they aren't ok losing on that happening? Hell no. Our offense is not explosive/consistent enough right now to do it against the teams we would see past the first round of the playoffs. But they have been heating up.

Exactly! I'm a diehard Vol, but I also don't look through Orange Glasses. He was spot on and right now we definitely are NOT a Championship team. Our schedule has been soft and we've struggled to score in SEC games.We very easily could have 4 losses. We also could easily only have 1. Contrary to what half our soft fanbase thinks, not everyone is after us nor hates us. The Refs aren't trying to sabotage us, ESPN and the committee don't have a vendetta against the Vols. Maybe against some of our dumbass fans, but hell I dislike half our idiot fans. Way too paranoid and look for stupid excuses, just like those idiot Bammers.

All fan bases are that way TBH. We just happen to be part of a fanbase of a team in the goldilocks zone for most of its history. The program is good enough for fans to justify their fervor. But not good enough most years to execute. So the fabs can justify their delusion. If/when UT ever goes on a streak its gonna be ugly how intolerable we get. Thats part of fandom. But lets wait till then? Most fan bases not named Kentucky, Vandy, Bama, Florida or UGA consider UT fans very polite and welcoming. Outside of those fan bases most folks like us.

I don't think we are a championship team, but I think we are worthy of being in the playoffs if we beat Vandy. With this said who has Texas beat??

I agree with him. If we can get the 8m QB clicking it be a possibility but he hasn't got it done against good teams yet. I'm disappointed in Nico btw.

Well then he made a stupid statement. The only reason anyone in the SEC makes the CFP is because other SEC teams have lost games. Duh. And he acts like this only applies to Tennessee. Yes, that is a stupid statement. It applies to every team... UGA, Texas, etc. Academic credentials don't always translate to real life.

McElroy is right. We had a good run but we are not a real contender. If we were, we would have won in Athens or beat Arkansas.

We were lucky to beat Florida to be honest. Best game all year was NC State or Alabama.
