Wow what an amazing game. It's a tale of two half's. Duke just did not look good in the first half at all, but the way they turned it around in the first minute in the second half, I believe told MD, hey we are taking over, you had your fun, now we will have ours! GO BLUE DEVILS!
Nelson stepped up with some great senior leadership tonight
a couple things I noticed from the Duke game..
1. I know Paulus was plagued with foul trouble for the MD game, but is it me or does Smith continue to get more and more PT? To that, Smith looked really good on both ends of the court last night. I still want and expect to see him as Duke's starting PG next year. I can see Duke using a 3 guard set up and having Paulus still on the floor though.
2. Nelson was huge. I agree with NC that Nelson has always been a threat. I think it's just now that K is letting him take the spotlight.
3. I saw far more flopping in the Gtown and WVU games this weekend than I did last night in Duke-MD.
MD is not KY.yep, and they still won, on the road. Duke did to MD what we couldn't do to KY.
Duke is going to be good when all is said and done.
I think Duke is peaking right now.
Their inside game is not going to improve b/c they don't have an inside game. When they're hitting 3s and playing pressure D and getting long rebounds, they're at their best.
The UNC game will be a doozy.
MD is not KY.
Again, I'm a Duke fan, but they're still overrated. They are very similar to UT, but less athletic and with less depth. I don't like their chances against good teams.
Nolan Smith should play every single second that they feel like he has stamina. He makes them much better defensively and he can actually break down some defenders.
They are very similar to UT, but less athletic and with less depth.
does tough mean not easy?MD might not be KY, but tough conference road games are never easy, especially when you don't have much success against the team as of late. Which could be said of both Tenn to KY and Duke to MD.
