Zbk, will be back in the game eventually. Duke needs it too, they need the inside presense of a big guy.

Maryland, without the victory over UNC, wouldn't even be discussed in college hoops this season. KY has made massive improvement since they've gotten players back. I just don't think the comparison holds and if you believe the last few games against MD matter this season, I'd prefer that the discussion end here.

Well of course MD wouldn't be talked about without that, they are now in the bottom of the ACC, but my point is, is that Duke and MD is the next biggest rivalry behind UNC(for Duke), and that game will never be easy regardless of MD being 1-11, 11-1, 6-6, etc. Duke typically struggles against them, just as Tenn struggles at KY.

I agree. Went to the Duke-Md game a few years ago at Cameron, and MD's easily their next biggest rival to UNC. I was very impressed with Duke's comeback win at Md. Plus, Md fans are nuts, and you kinda just want to get out of there without any serious injury.

I think we should celebrate. We are having agreements today. :) On a side note, you are correct about trying to get out of there without injury, their fans are vicious. My aunt went to an ACC champ game and she said their fans were worse than UNC, not so sure about that, but they certaintly wouldn't be much better.

I've adopted UNC as my ACC team since moving here, but I'm not being biased in saying that Maryland's fans are the most obnoxious - I fear fights will break out if there's a critical mass of Terp fans. UNC has some a-hole fans too, but overall I think they're pretty mild-mannered. Duke students get hyper for the games but are very tame afterward. Duke fans who aren't students are mostly older families going generations back - and they're frankly too old to get too riled up.

Bottom line - ACC fans are nowhere near as crazy as SEC fans, esp. football.

Windy, I'm going to the UT-Duke women's game tonight. Who will you be pulling for?

Oh - I forgot to mention the reason I'm going is b/c I'm the halftime entertainment - I will be trapped in a cage with a cougar, which I must kill with my bare hands. Wish me luck.

UT. I don't follow Duke women's bball. If it were mens, I'd still go for UT. I've been a UT fan since day one, and a Duke fan only for a couple years thanks to my Uncle.

I have to admit, part of the reason I started cheering for Duke other than JJ Redick was the Cameron Crazies. They're aweseome

3/4 of them have no idea what is going on in the game. They are obnoxious, not awesome. Not to mention they are all a bunch of super-white pimply goofy kids.

Much like the basketball team.

i don't know how you can call them overhyped. No one ever calls them basketball geniuses, they just call them problems for the opponent. And there's no doubt about it, they are a huge lift for Duke.

Oh I agree. My uncle got me into watching duke, and the fact that they immediately change chants the moment the possession changes, you just never see them stop, unlike alot of fans of other teams. Their energy is great and helps their team out. He was bound to make me like Duke as much as he had me watching them when I went over as they are the only family in my current area and the fact he took me to a game helps too. :good!: I can't wait to go to a game at Cameron though and my boss is trying to make that happen.

Man, I want to go to a game this year so bad, but I'm probably out of luck. I would buy tickets to the UNC game, but I have no way of getting down there. Maybe I'll get to go see them in the NCAA Tournament

I find it funny, my attorney before the season started said he had all the connections to get duke tickets, he thought it would be a piece of cake, so I put it up to him to get tickets since he said he could. I'm finding out he has absolutely nothing. Just because he went to law school there doesn't mean he will just get tickets--esp when he has donated $0.00 to Duke. He's contacted the alumni association, other attorneys he used to work with that went to Duke, his like 3rd or 4th cousin that is currently in Med school there, and he has had nothing! :eek:lol:

In the next 39 days you will need to save up about a grand for an average seat for that game. Best bet is to wait until next season and pick a game during holiday break when there's less demand for tickets. Non-conference games are much easier to score tix.
