This was in reply to -everyone being average besides Sampson-. Not that he actually is, but Bishop isn't that far off in the game of comparisons statistically. So if Bishop is average this year, than what did that make Sampson last year behind wright? It's imperative to realize what the meaning of carries is and how they effect statistics. So again, let's see how things flush out with others getting more carries and time to shine.

I agree, if we could go through the season without injuries we would be fine like we are. I would fell comfortable with Bishop and Lewis and wouldn’t be surprised to see Lewis be the feature back.

Most important thing for portal guys is do they fill a need and are they are a fit for your program. At least for actual playoff teams.

He seems to be a tough runner with quick feet and a good receiver out of the backfield.
One thing I saw that I didn't like in this highlight video is that he ran out of bounds a couple of times on the sideline when faced with defenders.
Never do that as a RB. You lower that shoulder and attack the defense and get those extra yards, even if it's only 3 or 4.

we dont use the RBs in the pass game at all unfortunately and it seems to be this kids best skillset

Sampson never looked average with the ball in his hands. His issues were he struggled in pass protection and he was undersized. Sampson would’ve played more if not for the pass protection issues though.

Ladanian Tomlinson got out of bounds and avoided taking unnecessary hits. He was able to handle about 400 touches a season for 8 years because of it.

Sampson looked better than Wright in 23 lol

It was clear at the jump Sampson was special.

Wight looked average his first couple years until he turned into a beast.
