Duke/UNC Official Thread 2021/2022 (K’s Last Hurrah Edition)

Also Duke got a grad transfer from Harvard who is 6’6” 220 and averaged 9 and 5. Underwhelmed would be a good word to describe my reaction .

Y’all are going to lose your mind when K is on some sort of special council to choose the next NCAA president.

I for one would applaud such a move. In my opinion, our rodent friends are woefully underrepresented in such organizations.

(Been awhile since I made the rat reference, so didn't want to disappoint you! :) )

Congratulations on landing a 5 ⭐️today. I’m interested to see how some of your UNC brethren explain how UNC recruited a one and done guy when you guys are supposedly above it .

Lol that’s quite the reach…UNC has always recruited one and dones it’s just they don’t make a habit of recruiting a whole roster full only to do it again the next year. You see UNC understands that experience is just as important as talent on a team

The experience? Pray tell…

Dropping back by to remind everyone that “roster full” is a whopping 3 players
3 out of 5 starters leave every year why that’s practically more then half the starting squad, must suck having a new team every year not sure you can call that a brotherhood more like a semesterhood

I (maybe because I'm old) don't really like the one-and-done approach, but I think it's a necessary evil in today's college basketball. I still believe that teams that have experience will have more consistent success than a team that reloads year after year with mostly freshmen. I don't think that Roy ever fully bought into the one-and-done approach, even though Carolina has had their share of one-and-done players. If you're going to truly commit to willfully loading up on the one-and-done guys, you have to be willing to recruit over guys that are already on your team and established as starters (or important rotation pieces) which can lead to problems in the locker room, and/or may go against your principles (which is where I think Roy struggled). Time will tell which direction Hubert will go and how well he does it, but I think he's going to be more willing to adapt to this modern game.

I already debunked this once, but I get reading isn’t a strong point. This makes only the 5th time a “roster full” of 3 or more players have left.
