Dwight Howard "upset" about Tobias Harris wearing #12

I agree with this. I don't think people understand this. If TH12 becomes a nba all star he'll be a great ambassador for UT, and depending on his career he might become a top 5 vol of all time.

Agree and take it a bit further. Tobias already is a great ambassador for UT. A lot of guys who were there four years don't have the attachment to the school that Tobias retains.

I am going to argue mis-managemnt of assets. Not sure Harris was in a situation (see my above post) that was most conducive to him displaying his "gamebreaking" ability.

In comparison, someone like Cal has been known to make players who didn't even really have true "Gamebreaking" ability look like they do.

I'll tell you what though, had Harris had the green-light the same way he had the first half of that embarrassing first round loss to Michigan, I'm not sure we'd even be having this argument

Who has Cal made look like they have gamebreaking ability that didnt really have it?

Well someone convinced Orlando that Daniel Orton was a 1st round pick.

Its not bc of Cal or what he did at Kentucky....After the first ten picks and sometimes even in the first ten picks....the NBA drafts more off potential than any other league.....They look more at measurables and Daniel Orton has good measurables....

Its also why someone like Darko Milicic was taken so early..... It is also why most of our good players dont get selected......Lofton, J Smith, Chism, and even T Harris (who is turning out to be a pretty decent) player dont test out good at NBA combines.

Daniel Orton shouldn't have been drafted IMO. Why did they draft a guy who only averaged 3.4ppg as a reserve? He had a season high of 14 points against Rider..

The same reason he was signed by my 76ers the other day.....you can toss stats out the window.....there are so few top of the line players.....they love potential.

You'll never convince me that if Orton played for say Kevin O'Neil that he would have been a 1st round draft pick.

Lol if that's true Scotty should have been drafted. He's a basket case though

Slight change of subject: has anyone ever seen a throwback Bernard King Washington Bullets jersey? Does such a thing exist? :hi:

Exactly. Josh Harrelson would have never been drafted playing for Miami of Ohio either.

U do realize that Daniel Orton about four yrs after college and sucking in the NBA just signed a free agent contract with the 76ers....it's bc he is legit center size and considered athletic....do u honestly think that has anything to do with Cal?

No, but the name recognition of Cal and UK got him into the 1st round. It certainly wasn't the 3 ppg and 3 rpg he averaged as a freshman.

You don't have to agree with me.

Seriously??

These 4 are all first round picks with less gamebreaking ability than Scotty Hopson

Daniel Orton
Patrick Patterson
Doron Lamb
Marqise Teague

Not to mention Terrence Jones & Brandon Knight are both players who have struggled to live up to being the Game Breaking Lottery picks that they were drafted at

I'll take Patterson, lamb, and Teague over hopson. You are right about Orton though.

It wasn't really an argument about them over Hopson, it was more about them looking like better players and getting drafted as high as they did because of playing for Cal/Kentucky

Yea I got that, and I think 3 of those 4 still get drafted in the 1st round without Cal.
