EA College Football, 2024 (PS5/XSX)

simply put no I don't think their N, I, L, would bring in 10k specifically.

Replace Stroud/Young with an AI generated NIL player with the same stats, and you will get the same results. Especially if you are going to have so many options to bring in pretty much any player you want. and that FREE mods will get you whoever you want.

its not as simple as saying that 30% of the player base uses these players, they need to show that 30% of the player base wouldn't buy the game unless their specific NIL was included.

and with the 10k dollar amount that would need to be the profit that single player brought in. offset by whatever marketing, development, and incorporation is included in that one player being added to the game. there are more than 5k players in the P5, even just producing the Top 10% would be a huge bit of work if EA is doing it to a point where you can saying its driving sales.
I’m specifically talking about MUT or whatever the NCAA version is going to be.

yeah MUT might be 30% of their sales, but I don't see any way to say that any one particular player is generating that much action. Who is dropping MUT because one of these guys isn't in there?

How does the MUT work with the pros? Is EA cutting a check to Joe Namath and his fur coat or any other retired player that happens to wind up on a MUT team?

Yes, EA has cut a check to Joe Namath for him being an available card in MUT, not sure what his deal is but some legends get a flat fee then they get a percentage of their content sales. Each Legend is individually licensed with EA....each deal varies depending on what that deal is. With the current NFL players, they are collectively negotiated with and I think the last figures the public saw was from 2020 and players association got a 5 year/$500M cut. Do college players have the same collective association or group? I am not 100% sure on that.

“So much depends on who they have agreements with, we don’t know who Brandr has agreements with. Plus, EA could just move forward without those athletes. It could be worse for the athlete because then they’re not getting paid.”

So once again, just make the entire roster AI generated and this will be solved. Literally no one cares about real rosters we're gonna have a whole new team in like 6 hours. PLUS greedy ass EA can further line their pockets by not having to give any money to players. It just seems like a no-brainer.

Hope y’all still like CFB Revamped because we’ll never see another College sports video game again. This will never see the light of day.
I just talked to a buddy of mine who is a former co-worker of the guy spearheading the legal part of this thing for Brandr. They both worked in the UNC Athletic Dept. He lives about 15 minutes from me. Thinking about leaving a single bullet in an envelope in that guys mailbox. Seems reasonable to me.

MUT is why madden died. To anyone that spends any money on that mode, big middle finger. Honestly lol
"Died" like to you or "died" in sales and popularity? No way to tell sales numbers really since a majority are digital sales, but Madden is raking in more money than they ever had in the past. If MUT was not as popular as it was, it would be taken from the game.

It’s objectively awful post MUT. Over 100 features from the PS2 era missing from the PS5 games. It’s inexcusable.

But honestly, lack of competition killed Madden. It’s killed all the sports titles. The games were far better when there were multiple options.

What has SDS done to innovate the Show since 2K stopped making MLB games?

NBA 2K is still good, That eras mode is amazing. But the other two major sports games haven’t changed since 2010

But Madden isnt dead? It may be **** lol, but its still wildly popular and MUT is crazy popular. Until people stop paying into MUT, it will never, ever go away. They will put the exact damn thing in this college football game and it will sell crazy and they will rake in a ton of money.

Yep. That’s why I said what I said in the OP of this thread.

Died to the long time franchise fans (like myself and others) as in they got lazy and released the same trash every year. Yes because MUT is popular, morons play it and spend thousands on virtual cards that don’t even carry over to the next game. So as long as idiots exist, why does EA need to try and make a good game? They don’t.

Exactly! What's so hard about filling the rosters with "generic white guy #16" or "generic black guy #93"? Let some neck bearded basement resident create the rosters and upload them like they used to do. This shouldn't be so complicated. College football isn't like the NFL. Fans care more about the program and the pageantry of college football more than the individual players. Having authentic rosters is a nice bonus but it was never a driving factor that made the game appealing.

Like others have mentioned. Features missing, but gameplay as well.
To just simply get your players to catch a pick you need an ability, want a pass rush gotta pay for it. QB's have terrible releases besides like 2, unless you guessed it, you pay for it.
I would rather play madden 12 or NCAA 14 than the new garbage they've come out with. Yes NCAA 14 had a ton of cheesy tactics, but to do most of that stuff you had to have some sort of user skill. Now just buy abilities.

Hmm, you made all that up for that last punch line?
No. The first part is true. The part about the bullet in the envelope was just a kind of a joke expressing the frustration towards someone who is involved with potentially holding up the video game. I figured that’s pretty straightforward for you or anyone else who might’ve agreed with you.

I think you’re right. Going to be endless lawsuits over NIL rights if they do try to make it

The game is going to come out. But will there be one after that one? We will see.
Seems like the players would be in a better spot to negotiate what kind of $$ they should want after the new game comes out. If you’re going to be a 5⭐ freshman you should be the one that stands to make the most money. You’ll be the one in the game for 3-5 years. People like Caleb Williams or Drake Maye shouldn’t even GAF about their EA $ bc they’re going to be making NFL $ along with a lot of other 6 and 7 figure endorsements . Do they really care about ultimate team $ at that point? Won’t they be getting a Madden check too? It comes across as arguing over peanuts when they’re going to spend their EA $ at a rookie dinner or whatever initiation they’ll go through.

College football games simply don’t need player likeness in them or an ultimate team mode, period. But if it has it, being in a video game at all would be cool enough for 99% of kids. I guarantee it. But one rotten apple can spoil the bunch

I completely agree. The only people that I have heard that have an axe to grind, are the ones that are trying to get a piece of the $$ (Brandr) or who didn’t before, Ed O’Bannon and last week Cardale Jones. If you’re a big time college football player you’re expanding your brand footprint by being in the game , which IMO is way more valuable than whatever you think you can get from EA .
