EA on Bray making me think...

Bray definitely had the wrong coach.

Bray's mistake was coming to UT and our mistake was thinking he would ever amount to anything but a punk. Thank God he is gone and we can get back to winning games with kids that want to be here and want to get better. Bray can hold a clipboard at the next level but I would really love to see him come into a game against a decent NFL defense. The schooling he will get would be priceless.

Leads me to believe you were either:

A. dating someone way out of your league,

B. perpetual wingman for some dude that got regular serious action

C. attending college in your hometown, and Baptist.

A couple of those are legitimate, so okay.

B. he made a great wingman, now leave him alone. :hi:

I always liked Bray. I think he was under-rated and over-judged. If things around him were a little different everyone would love him.

Blame himself for what? The fact that you don't feel sorry for him? Haha the things he has done that's "bad" that we've heard about, is just what he got caught doing...aging no telling how much hell them boys raise.. yeah feel sorry for him haha he's gonna be a NFL qb, but how can he live with his self if you don't feel sorry for him..he called u a Debbie downer because your a square not because you wont feel sorry for Bray.

He was throwing beer bottles at someone's car. He got caught. If he got a bum rap for it then it is his fault and nobody else`s. He has no one to blame but himself for the bum rap. I don`t feel sorry for him if it hurt his repetition. It was all his fault. Is that so hard to understand?

Bray had plenty of games he could have put the game away and he didn't. The D did its job in the 4th with the game 28-21 of the Mizzou game and Bray couldn't put the game away with 2 chances. Reason why Dooley didn't have faith in him at the end cause he hadn't earned it during crunch time. Point blank.

How about the D stepping it up and stopping UFs fake pt attempt and the O goes 3 and out?? How about when the O fumbled at the end of the miss st game and failed to put the game away?? How about the fumble at the end of the USCjr game...the Ds fault?? People defend Bray as if they couldn't see how pompous he was on the sideline. Joking around with teammates instead of getting things together to go back out on the field. Its said he did his own thing out there too and messing up the coaches game-plan.

People don't like bray being talked about negatively cause he is a kid but yet they will bash all the kids on the D by saying they sucked. Yet I saw a squad that fought hard. Had there faults and growing pains but played tough. The NFL caliber O didn't get it done when they needed to.

As a person that never was in a "college drunken stupor", I can`t feel sorry for him. If the beer bottle incident was "inexcusable" why are you making excuses for it?

Gee...sounds like you had a lot of fun in college....

I would have hate to have hung out with you back in the day...

You are bashing a kid about throwing beer bottles while drunk...but you have zero compassion/empathy and are judging him based on a stupid drunken action....who is the nicer one here....i would hang out with Bray any day before some judgemental prick like yourself...

I wish the mods would just ban fake fans like yourself.....Bray did more for UT than you ever will...too bad his coaches were Dooley and Sal... instead of Fulmer and Cutliffe with Chavis on D....

What if he didn't have 3 NFL receivers to throw to? What if he had a real coach? We'll never know the answers.

I don't blame Bray for how everything went down these past three years, but I can't say he had any heroic efforts either. I doubt he'll do anything notable in the pros, but I wish him the best of luck.
Bray was lighting it up with Gerald Jones and Darius Moore (who hadn't done shiite til Bray stepped onto the scene), so there goes your 3 NFL receivers argument.

Plus, it is VERY, VERY rare for a team with a losing season and a fired head coach to be the 2nd best offense in the SEC. If we had just a decent defense...the offense would have gotten 3-5 more possessions a game. That means fewer points for our opponents and more for us.

Bray just got snake bit by the worst Head Coach at UT in modern history, and the worst defense...EVER. Thank Mike Hamilton for that.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning had chances to put some of their games away, but didn't. So, why expect Bray to score 40+ per game to "put games away?"

Sure he had some bad days, but what QB in football doesn't? On the whole, this offense scored enough to beat 5 of the teams we lost to...and Vandy was just this team giving up...again. Because all their HC has ever done, is lose.

My incident was in 12/84...I'm prolly a tad before your time.

I was on a similar tree excursion around that time frame

As for Bray - loads of talent. Any off field antics were amplified because he was the starting QB
He led the team to lots of yards and points and we were in some shoot-outs. Against SEC teams when he had a chance to have a game winning drive (thanks to defense allowing more than we had scored) he came up short due to fumble or interception. At least he was able to get the winning points against teams like Troy

Without Bray last year would have been a lot worse. At least our offense was a bright spot during a dark time

You sir need to learn how to read. Never did I bash him. I said the bad publicity that he received was his own fault. Never did I bash him and never did I judge him. Why is that so hard for you to understand???

And for your information not everyone in this world thinks the only way to have fun is to get sh*tface drunk. Sorry if that upsets you.

I never knew Sal was an offensive coach during his short tenure here. Interesting. What bad traits did Sal coach TB?

It's fair weather fans like you that only show up when the team is winning. Go back in your hole. Tennessee has good players and not so good players every year. All teams do. TB was one of the not so good players.

Ummmm did u miss my Mizzou example?? It was 28-21 in the 4th and the D gave the O to chances in the 4th to put the game away and they didn't. So it was a matter of time the D was going to let them score. And last time I checked he didn't need to score 40 to put that game away.

Also...I get the bad days that great QBs have so stop with stupid comparisons like that. Leave that level of argument for ur kindergarten class. 1 game is one thing but he was unable to put the game at clutch time at the end all season vs tough teams. He was able to do it vs teams he should and was cocky about it. But when it came time to do it vs the teams that count he choked. Pt blank.

Yall can blame the coaching all u want but the fact that he was a 3* with only 2 mid major scholly offers out of HS maybe had something to do with it. I'm sure many coaches saw the raw talent so maybe they saw something else. The guy came off as arrogant and pompous as heck, and that's just from what I saw I tv. Its unfortunately he was the only horse dooley had to ride. Bray knew it and took advantage of it imo. Thanks to kiffin for running off any competition or mentoring he would have had.

I believe he was pointing out the TB would have more wins if Dooley hadn't hired Sal.

Bray has a lot of natural ability and talent. His biggest issue when he was here was his immaturity and leadership on the field and in the games. He had a tendency to sulk and mope when things didn't go well. That will not play well at the pro level where he would be required to lead his team back with pressure on. I am confident he will outgrow some of these tendencies as most of us do. It is just fortunate for most of us we don't have to do our growing with 100,000+ watching in person every week. I hope he has a lot of success going forward.

Bray is one of the most talented QB's we have ever had. He was exciting to watch. But Bray needed to grow up, like so many young athletes do, during his time at UT. A good staff, strong upper class-men on a team, and an athlete's attitude and work ethic usually work together to grow talented kids into strong leaders. He never got out of his diapers, IMO. His PR skills were abysmal, he was impulsive on and off the field, and he never had quite the discipline that it takes to be the face of the Vols. I think he might have become a true star if he was in a different situation. It's unfortunate. I wish him the best and hope that he learns a lot about what was lacking while trying to build a career in the NFL.

Nobody.

Stop acting so dumb than with TB. He failed to execute in the clutch countless times. He failed to win games he could have won countless times. Yards and TDs mean NOTHING if you don't win the game. Off the field he acted like a prick.

You play to win the game. TB failed to do that in spite of all the fantasy stats.
