I don't think losing Mickey would have been a huge deal for LSU this season, though. He's definitely more of a PF than a SF and Martin and O'Bryant should be getting most of the minutes down low.
They're pretty deep at his position (combo forward) with Jarell Martin and Shavon Coleman. It always hurts to lose a player with Mickey's long-term potential, but I don't think it would have made a huge effect this season.
What's the reasoning?
He signed with a pro team in Germany. I don't know the reasoning.
Vanderbilt just went from a rising team looking for a bid, to possibly worse than last year in 1 day.
First it was Bright, now their best player Kedren Johnson is gone.

Im gonna be selfish for a minute, he would be a great get as a transfer and eligible to play next year! With that said, I have no idea what he did, any chance he was involved in the FB rape case?
I still haven't understood why these 5*s can't make a decent effort in high school, it isn't cool to be a complete idiot. They have NBA talent, yet can't make at least a 2.5 in standard classes?
EDIT: They mentioned in that article that he is now considered a 2014 recruit, and it's possible he could go somewhere else. That'd be awesome if he was open to his recruitment again.
