i still can't believe notre dame is taking the heat they are for getting killed by alabama.

it's like all the jokes lsu took for not crossing the 50 yard line.

notre dame was 12-0 and beat several quality teams. they were a good football team. they just weren't in bama's class

LSU and UGA had Alabama on the ropes. A&M beat them. Notre Dame cant even stay within 21 points? They would have been beaten by Bama, LSU, A&M, USC, UGA and FL last year...easily and probably Miss State.

According to the NCAA Ohio State has never beaten an SEC team in a bowl game. Plus, it's amazing to see Ohio State fans cling to the one vacated "win" as a rallying cry. If they are an elite program, why can't they EVER in the history of their school beat one SEC team in a bowl game without blatantly cheating.

Same old story every year...Ohio State gets "top recruiting class", ranked in the top 10 preseason and gets beat like a drum in a bowl game against any decent team. All because they got Hingle McGringleberry at QB who never pans out in the pros but is always in the Heisman finals. ESPN??

Same for Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Va Tech, Clemson and Texas. What a joke.

Troy Smith is the only Heisman finalist Ohio State has had since Tressel arrived in 2001. Second, the Heisman isn't supposed to be a predictor of pro success, it's an award for the best college player.

Why don't you socialize with your own fans Florida trash.

If more than 10 of your fans finished high school you guys could communicate with each other on your own board.

I would wait a bit before deeming Vandy a top 25-30 team, but I haven't looked at all the other teams under them.

the preseason top 10 went a combined 99-33 and included the national champion (sec champ), acc champion, pac 12 champion, and big 12 co-champion.

they get some wrong (usc and arkansas), but usually teams in the preseason top 10 are very good

yep and also understand a high preseason rankings gives you the benefit of the doubt.. you lose a game you won't fall as much as you would if you aren't in the top 10 because voters have issues with dropping teams they expected to be that high up after a lose to another quality team.

25. Vanderbilt Commodores
Previous rank: NR
Here's what the Commodores accomplished during the 2012 season: They won nine games (their most since 1915), won five SEC contests (their most since 1935), played in back-to-back bowl games for the first time in school history and ended the campaign with a seven-game winning streak. How's that for momentum? Vanderbilt coach James Franklin will have to replace leading passer Jordan Rodgers and leading rusher Zac Stacy, but he's bringing back seven starters on both offense and defense in 2013. Wyoming transfer Austyn Carta-Samuels and sophomore Patton Robinette will battle for the quarterback job this spring. The Commodores bring back top receiver Jordan Matthews, who led the SEC with 94 catches for 1,323 yards, and they signed ESPN Top 150 receiver Jordan Cunningham and ESPN Top 300 receivers DeAndre Woods and Carlos Burse to help him.

This should be some incentive for us to whoop vandy's butt!!!

I would not put any faith in this list. No way Vandy is better than USC! Notre Dame....seriously? USCe and Oregon are too high. There are just too many things wrong, imo.

Would love for my boy Patton to grab that starting job, I'd be so freaking proud. It'd be weird hoping Vanderbilt gets absolutely crushed while also hoping Patton is successful.

So I'm hoping they have a team like ours last year, a god awful defense.

How in the world does Vandy get in the top 25? I was raised to hate Vandy with a passion thanks to my uncle and late father. It's an embarrassment to see their name anywhere near the top 25. Vandy needs to stay in the cellar of the SEC where they belong. And please Butch, design some running or passing plays right at Franklin to take him out. Would be a great way to cap off a hopefully successful season....

Vandy ended the season ranked in the top 25. They had the longest winning streak in the sec at the end of the season. They also destroyed the vols last season! Vandy is no longer an automatic win, this is A rivalry again! Start living in the real world vols fans!

If we had played nd in the opener instead of ncsu I'd bet the house we'd have beaten them.

Makes me sick to see Vandy at 25....I don't hate many people, or at least try not to, but James Franklin is the guy that I pretty much hate...guy is pretty much Lane Kiffin #2.

It's funny how some of y'all think that a 5-7 team that ranked 10th to 12th in the SEC in recruiting should be ranked in the Top 25.

Both Louisville and Stanford only had recruiting classes ranked nationally in the 40s or so, but their in the top 25, I think it has way more to do with their records and how they finished last year and what how many starters are returning from those teams.
