Makes me sick to see Vandy at 25....I don't hate many people, or at least try not to, but James Franklin is the guy that I pretty much hate...guy is pretty much Lane Kiffin #2.

How is he Lane Kiffin? The guy has taken Vandy to back to back bowl games! He didn't leave his team after one season! He wasn't handed great jobs for doing nothing! UT has been the most poorly run program in the sec for the last five years! I hate Alabama but I can't sit here and say that they don't have A good coach. As long as Franklin is at Vandy I see them winning games so get used to it! UT fans should embrace their new coach and be patient. He will get it turned around in A year or two!

After Vandy *****ed slapped Tenn last season I have very little confidence that Tenn will win no matter where the game is played this year. Sad I know but just realistic.

This will be Vandy's 3rd powder-puff schedule in a row. They might still be ranked when we play them. I hope so. It will make it so much sweeter. Franklin knows that this will be the last easy schedule so he'll be somewhere else this time next year.

Both Louisville and Stanford only had recruiting classes ranked nationally in the 40s or so, but their in the top 25, I think it has way more to do with their records and how they finished last year and what how many starters are returning from those teams.
Louisville also have one if not the best qb in the nation this year....

Yea they do have a semi-easy schedule next season, especially compared to ours. I view pre-season polls as mainly rewards for doing well last season and during recruiting.

Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Clemson, FSU...yawn. We will see how they shake out when they run into SEC teams in the playoff. Ohio State had NEVER beaten a SEC team in a bowl game and are 4-11-3 all time against SEC teams.

Playoff is year after next

True...I still don't like him though. He's a classless moron. Sorry. But yes, I know. I believe in Butch jones.

The fact that beating Vandy is a goal shows just how far the UT program has sunk.

This simply is not true. When the great General Robert Neyland was brought to Tennessee, there were many goals set for him. Beating Vanderbilt was at the top of the list. This isn't made up. It is fact. For 87 years that has been one of the top goals of every team to run through the "Power T". Years like last year occur when a team becomes complacent in that goal. No team to wear the Orange and White should ever take beating Vanderbilt for granted. Why you ask? Three reasons.

1) When you take it for granted...last year happens.
2) While beating Vandy in nice. Embarrassing them is better.
3) It is the single biggest factor in why the world has not imploded on itself. There was a reason why General Neyland was sent to UT. Losing a game here and there throughout the years is one thing. Letting that turn into a series of wins has dire consequences. There is a whole book in the Bible that covers this. Just flip to the very back. You'll find it.

Beating Vandy is not a goal persay. It's our duty as Volunteers. :hi:

Or it's indicative of the fact that they have improved? Or a combination of the two?

None of the above options negates the fact that it will be a positive to crush them, no?

I don't believe Vandy should be there either however, with the thumping they put on us last year, who are we to argue with that? I personally can't believe that UCLA is in the top 25. I consider them a laughing stock of the West Coast!
