Damaging wind threat: High (Winds in excess of 70 mph)
Hail threat: Medium (Quarter size hail is possible, with isolated hail up to half dollar size)
Tornado threat: Very Low (Can't rule out a brief tornado, especially with any cells that pop up ahead of the main line)
Flooding threat: Low (Isolated flooding is possible in heavier bands)

* At 535 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Jamestown, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Oneida, Huntsville and Helenwood around 610 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Rugby,
Rugby State Park, Smokey Junction, Winfield, Honey Creek State Park,
Norma, Elgin, Robbins, Slick Rock and Big South National Park.

Hope everyone in Oklahoma is safe after last night. What is bad today is all the people without power have to deal with sweltering 90+ degree heat.

Within the next hour or so, it looks like there will be a Severe Thunderstorm Watch being issued for the Plateau and parts of the Northern and Central Valley.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Clinton, La Follette, Oneida, Oliver Springs, Jacksboro,
Huntsville, Helenwood, Jellico, Caryville and Rocky Top.

This includes Interstate 75 in Tennessee between mile markers 118 and
157.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the western 2/3rds of East TN until 9:00 PM EST.
 
YAY, the storms don't look like they are going to be severe tonight like they thought....Thank the Lord. It was so pretty at sunset too.

I'm sorry for not posting anything about this system. My cellular service got cut off, and I just got it turned back on. Anyways, today is definitely a day to keep an eye on the weather. Widespread damaging winds between 60-70 mph is the primary threat, with some areas especially north of Interstate 40 potentially seeing destructive winds greater than 70 MPH. Large hail up to half dollar size and a few isolated tornadoes are also possible.
 
Heads Up!

In the next 1 to 2 hours, I'm anticipating a watch to be issued for East TN (most likely a Tornado Watch)
