That enhanced has been upgraded to a moderate for parts of middle TN. :(

That enhanced has been upgraded to a moderate for parts of middle TN. :(

And to be more specific, it's areas along and north of interstate 40 (Nashville is included). The primary risks in the moderate area include Damaging winds up to 70 mph, Very large hail up to tennis ball size, and a few tornadoes are possible.

Hey VK, Weather.com has the timing for Pellissipi area to start at 9pm Friday evening. Does that line up with what you are seeing?

Are there supposed to be storms throughout the day tomorrow as well, or just the morning?

Update:

Not only will we see a line of storms move through overnight into tomorrow morning, but there could also be a second round of storms develop tomorrow afternoon (mainly for East TN). Damaging winds in excess of 60 mph and large hail up to half dollar size are all possible.

In a separate update, the tornado threat has increased in the moderate risk area. Very strong to extreme instability combined with fairly strong wind shear are the ingredients that could lead to destructive hail and several tornadoes. If you are in the Nashville/Clarksville areas, I highly recommend keeping an eye on the weather today.

The weird thing about the system today is that this is the kind of system we would see in the spring, not July.

Update:

The enhanced risk area has extended into the western valley (I-40/75 split and areas west). Damaging winds up to 70 mph is still the main threat, but large hail up to quarter size and an isolated tornado or 2 are also possible.

Also, it appears as though there is still some uncertainty as far as timing and where the storms will initiate.
