We lucked out of this one apparently. This hail producing storm just so happened to stay just south of I-40. My phone and tv were blowing up with warnings and woke me up with just enough time to pull my car into the garage.

I had a caddy with a moon roof and watched as hail it hit a lot of years ago,I lucked out and it just left a few very small dimples and some scratches on it

So you just stared up at the glass moon roof watching it while hail pounded down on it all the while your face is right below it? :good!:

no i ran inside the house to get away from the hail,it was under a tree, which was what i had for a garage back then :)

i did get hit in the shoulder and it was pretty painful, they were a bit bigger than a golf ball, luckily it was a very light storm

I had a car totaled out in the last big hailstorm.

This one I had a garage for one car and I parked under the awning at work for the other.

Weather Bulletin

A cold front will bring in a line of showers and a few thunderstorms late this afternoon into the evening. None of these storms are expected to reach severe levels. However, due to the very cold air aloft, we could see small hail generally around pea size in some of the storms.

For those who are planning on visiting the mountains on Thursday, the following is for you. After the cold front swings through, the air will be so cold that any lingering showers above 4000 feet with mix with and/or change to snow. 1-2 inches of snow is possible in the highest peaks, such as Newfound Gap and Mount Leconte.

Being on Mt. Leconte for a May snow sounds like one of the best things on earth.

Those tornados in Kentucky! That's some of the most detailed video of tornados I've ever seen. Kudos to those storm chasers for taking that footage.

Alert!

Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Northwestern portions of East Tennessee (Crossville, Jamestown, Oneida, Kingston, Oak Ridge, Wartburg, Maynardville, ect.) until 7:00 AM EST.

Damaging winds in excess of 60 mph and large hail up to quarter size are the primary threats, while an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

Knoxville is not included in the watch, but it's close enough.

Update:

We'll still see scattered storms roll through, but the severe threat is diminishing quickly. I think the watch will expire in the next hour.

Tornado hit around Mayfield Kentucky today (VFL Chris Loftons hometown) all I have seen is the video of the tornado no reports of the damage
