it is 48 degrees right now and there is a hard frost warning for tonight, 26 degrees is suppose to be the low tonight,so a frost is going to hit

Are the morning frosts done now for the tri-cities? It's gardening time. Usually last frost is April 29 (90%) so I'm banking that they are.

I've been wondering if Middle/East Tennessee is going to see severe weather this year.

The El Nino that has weakened significantly, but is still hanging on has been a big reason for the low amount of severe weather. Nationally, we are below average in terms of the number of tornadoes this spring.

It seems like we've had less rain than usual this spring as well. That could just be a misperception on my part.

I usually wait till the first of May other than the cold plants,I do need to break out the tiller and get a small garden in this year for a change :)

I haven't had one in several years

Thank you for the explanation.

I think so as well. I always expect rain in April and we just haven't got much of it. TWC says 90% chance on Thursday night and 80% chance Friday.

I'd never had one until about 3 years ago. Best therapy I've ever started. A few raised beds at the house, and a larger one that I don't baby away from home where I can grow my vines. Took a chance and have everything out except for the majority of my tomatoes.

Severe Weather Bulletin

Tomorrow, there's a marginal risk for strong to possibly severe thunderstorms for everyone in East Tennessee except the plateau. Most storms tomorrow should stay below severe levels, but an isolated severe storm or 2 can't be ruled out. Primary threat with these storms will be strong to damaging winds up to 60 mph.

Edit: There is no threat for flooding.
